### <center> This Man Is A Living Legend</center>

Time passed, young turned into old, old turned into older. These words came out from the man who was known as a living legend. I recalled when I was a a kid, this man killed a crocodile that ate his chicken. He had treated the chicken like he did to his children. He loved the chicken like he did to his wife. One bad evening, a wild crocodile came to the cage and his beloved chicken became sole prey. He was brave man, he soon came out and fought with the thorny back animal. Whole people came to see him and he let nobody help him out. Not more than one hour, the crocodile died along with his chicken. He got some bite that left a big scar on his back. His bravery of killing crocodile spreaded around village and he was then embedded as a legend. Right!  Before I forgot, his name is Banta Ali, he is 80 years old. He used to drink plain coffee, and he loves to smoke tradional cigarette. He is now a weak man, helpless but the tittle as a legend is still embedded. 



Accidentally, I met him at coffee shop, when I was on visit my family. He greeted me and insisted me to accompany him. I was so proud of being close to him, hang out with the legend, it scarce moment to have. Banta Ali has seven children, three sons and four daughters. All of them had move out from the village and left Banta alone. His wife passed two years ago that made him look so gloomy. Most of the time he spent out at coffee shop, nothing much to do.



During I was with him, he didnt speak too much sometime he stared at me as if I just made him offend. He then threw me a weak smile. I began arranging some words as an intro he was silent for a minute. He did not answer my question but he prefer to say some wise word, "young turn into old, old turn into older, and at the end we all die". These words came through the soft intonation. I did not reply for I knew what he meant. "I am about to die, I was strong man at your age, but now I am paralyzed, I just rely on people help." It made me tremble when I heard the word die.



Banta Ali took a sip and sighed. A weak smile again came out. A legend must take a risk on his own. Life so cruel on his eyes. The children visited him once in a year and he did not expecr anything from them. He just let him self growing older and waiting to die!

_Waktu berlalu, muda menjadi tua, tua menjadi lebih tua. Tidak berlebihan jika saya panggil lelaki tua ini sebagai legenda hidup. Saya teringat ketika saya kecil, lelaki ini membunuh seekor buaya yang memangsa ayamnya. Dia telah merawat ayam tersebut seperti merawat anak-anaknya. Dia mencintai ayam seperti dia mencintai istrinya. Tapi di suatu malam, seekor buaya masuk ke kandang dan ayam kesayangannya menjadi mangsa satu-satunya. Dia lelaki yang berani, dia langsung keluar dan berkelahi dengan binatang berkulit runcing itu. Seluruh penduduk datang untuk menyaksikan pertarungan itu. Tidak lebih dari satu jam, buaya itu pun mati bersamaan dengan ayamnya. Di punggungnya terdapat gigitan buaya yang sekarang sudah menjadi parut. Keberaniannya membunuh buaya tersebar ke seluruh penjuru kampung dan kemudian dia dijuluki sebagai legenda. Namanya Banta Ali, umur 80 tahun. Dia biasanya minun kopi tanpa gula dan suka menghisap rokok tradisional. Sekarang dia lelaki lemah, tak berdaya tapi titel sebagai legenda masih tersemat gagah._


_Saya kebetulan berjumpa dengan dia di salah satu warung kopi. Dia menyapa saya dan memaksaku menemaninya. Saya bangga bisa duduk bersama sang legenda karena momen seperti ini jarang saya dapatkan. Banta Ali memiliki tujuh orang anak, tigs laki dan empat perempuan. Mereka semua sudah pindah. Istrinya meninggal dua tahun lalu membuatnya terlihat begitu murung._

_Selama bersamanya, dia tidak banyak bicara kadang-kadang dia menatapku seolah saya membuatnya tersinggung. Dia kemudian tersenyum lemah. Saya mulai menyusun beberapa kata sebagai pembuka, dia diam. Dia tidak menjawab pertanyaan saya tapi dia lebih suka mengucapkan kata-kata bijak "Muda menjadi tua, tua menjadi lebih tua dan akhirnya semua kita mati". Kata-kata ini keluar dari mulutnya dengan nada lemah. Saya tidak menjawab karena saya sedikit banyaknya tahu maksud di balik kata-kata itu._
