# A look back through my travel photos from before Steemit ![imageedit_2_8210167665.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmY1bGPsMuuctBjWncRueXALC9SebAED9dZ6PdRKKPYcdF/imageedit_2_8210167665.jpg) Cambodia was such an inredibkle country to travel in. We were lucky enough to have no time scale in particular and ended up spending around 3 weeks navigating our way around this wonderful, yet tragic little country. An obvious highlight for any would be traveller is the world reknowned UNESCO world heritage site of Angkor Wat, and it is indeed a wonder, and we spend a full day here, but for me there was an even more impressive temple by the name Ta Prohm. The thing which made Ta Prohm so special was the fact that it has remained practically unchanged since it was built in the 12th century. After the Khmer Empire ended back in the 15th century, the temple of Ta Prohm was abandoned and was neglected for centuries. During this time, the surrounding jungle began to overgrow uin and around the temple, and it became so entwined in the the stonework, that it now forms part of the temple. There is something very special indeed about it, and you can feel the power and energy of the place as you walk around. # Here are a few more of our photos from Ta Prohm ![CamThaiLaos 066.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYSjGbs4E2KNFGTUKkGXrEBbER9twY8D2U9XHu97dgU43/CamThaiLaos%20066.jpg) This one above gives you an idea of the scale and size of these trees - it was a truly amazing place to visit. ![CamThaiLaos 084.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmc7vYtSWooR9pobqDzfa6ah5X8Htk4sphp2KRYt7hRqcD/CamThaiLaos%20084.jpg) ![CamThaiLaos 067.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZCfxSV4ngrJSWvGf9hmc5x68is2hx4BgPaSBR1uqU1dw/CamThaiLaos%20067.jpg) ![CamThaiLaos 055.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXNkoDGdxEEkb9BvKu4cD4tMMp2ogJJpxFyTgDPkwUs22/CamThaiLaos%20055.jpg) ![Divider.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYk5ffSVrwCPb1qxGBxVRdhbCywtmKdBh9zhTY2RKLfJ3/Divider.png) I traveled around South East Asia and Australia back in 2007/2008 with my then girlfriend/now wife. It was a trip of a lifetime and I loved every minute of it. I am going to upload a photo every day. I'll upload another one tomorrow. # Peace Out ![Ablaze.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmagtZNcUNUcYjMuGaFCv6RYSUy5jEWdyMeQ2aR1iTAqF9/Ablaze.jpg)

Sure you'll never forget this journey. How impressive this sight is... I have once seen a movie about it on youtube and the spirit of it still accompanies me. The roots of that tree are so huge. When I think about a living being becoming that old I feel the respect for nature and all the creatures on earth. Glad that you married your former girl friend:)

Yes, there is something so profound about nature that has been around for a long time like trees, and I also find the same true or even more true of mountains... I feel a special type of energy around areas like that.. I also feel a great freedom when I climb them, like my soul is at one with nature again, if that makes sense.. Yes it worked out great, we are happy out :o)
