now from what i saw, in the battle you shared, you used the sea monster as tank.
we call tank the monster at the first position.
so you used the sea monster as tank, while your opponent used the Goblin Mech as tank. 
you also used the Mantoid in the second position. i would not use that myself, because the Mantoid is a SNIPE monster, i.e. it does not attack the tank.
so your opponent was using all his monsters to hit the same monster, your tank, the Sea Monster, whereas you were hitting both your opponent's first and second monster. i think that's why you did not win. also the fact you put the mantoid in the second position, and when it came to the first position, it did not strike.
Try to put your range monsters (like the mantoid) as further back as you can, because they need to be last. the further back, the better.
so, to sum up:
ALWAYS, always, put range monsters as further back as possible. sometimes you will get a rule that says range monsters can fire from first position, but that is the EXCEPTION to the rule.
