Electricity is simply a given for all of us who have an online social life, we have TVs that can be switched on at any time, we have refrigerators that keep our food in optimum conditions, and last but not least a welcoming outlet to charge our phone's battery that's permanently connected to the internet. We're lucky, aren't we? I would say yes, because maybe not many of us know, but half of the world's population does not have electricity, or receives it with a serving.
I know it's pretty hard to imagine how, even half of the world's population doesn't have plenty of electricity, but it really is, and that's not my discovery, but rather an excerpt from this [bike-themed YouTube video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cgb9lfKW_d4&feature=emb_title), a hybrid that produces electricity. The principle is quite simple, as you probably have already imagined, and relies on a generator and *human energy*, willing to pedal for at least an hour a day to provide electricity to a small home, needed for 24 hours.
The revolutionary bicycle was called [Free Electric](https://newatlas.com/free-electric-bike/40963/) and is the invention of the Indian engineer Manoj Bhargava, who, unlike other enlightened minds, has also thought of the less fortunate, who live in countries or parts of the very poor and underdeveloped world, and who just wish for electricity available 24 hours a day. What limited thinking would some say..., why not use the law of attraction presented in "The Secret" to attract abundance? Yes, those people are probably limited, and if you live in a two-levels mansion, and you probably have three or four cars, one of them being a Porsche, you see the world differently, and you don't think much about electrons anymore, and how could you generate them to light up your bulb.

Not all of us were born under a shining star, and unfortunately there are quite a few people living in very difficult conditions. I really appreciate such brilliant minds as Mr. Manoj Bhargava's, and such projects as his, and that is why I seek to share them on Steem, as often as I have the opportunity. Moreover, I even realized that I had not written such a post for a long time, and it was about time for one to come to your feed.
I know I can't do much for those people, who I hope will benefit from such bikes, but I like to show appreciation to those who make considerable efforts to help those around them. Basically, I think in our DNA, there is somewhere in the code written about empathy and how important it is, and it is often not so difficult to help someone, and not even too expensive. You just have to want it, and be open to it. I do not know if it has any relevance, the example I will give below, but I think that people who are generous, and open to help the less fortunate, are even happier than the rest of us. Or at least they seem.
I have some neighbors who have had a fast food restaurant in our town, for several years. They are a young family, the husband being the same age as me, and at the same time some really nice people, open minded, and I would say quite generous. Quite often, in front of their store was passing a very poor man, and quite old from what I noticed as I know him myself as well, and according to them, every time they saw him, they offered him some food, and every time they did that, not only did their sales go very well, but they really felt very good, like giving has some special vibe in it.
I think that a small part of our time and energy should be dedicated to those around us. And believe me, we don't have to search too hard to find subject to offer our help to, whatever that may be. I think that such an attitude and such attributes are definitory, for us, as a specie.
How will this bike get to the homes of people who desperately need electricity, unlike all of us, I have no idea, but I really hope with all my heart that this project will become a reality, and I would even be willing to make a small donation, in crypto, for such a project. I like new ideas, I like simple and practical work and, last but not least, I like it when people become supportive. It is sad, however, that the authorities, and the great powers of the world, such as China or America, are fighting for supremacy in 5G, and to make smart cities a reality as soon as possible, while at the other end of the world there are people who do not even have electricity.
The competitive spirit is also a quality of human nature, and often, it prevents us from empathizing with those in need, or who would need our help. The solutions are, it seems, for any problem, they're just missing their implementation on a large scale. I personally would prefer never to benefit from 5G, which I still consider to be a poisonous frequency for our health, but to know that instead, someone, somewhere, has the opportunity to pedal for electricity in their home. I hope Free Electric becomes a reality, in as many affected countries as possible.
