Communities are live, according to Steemit, and it's time to make use of them, and moreover I decided to create one myself as well. It's named [HIGHLIGHTS or hive-176777](https://steemit.com/created/hive-176777) and it is a news dedicated community as you might have already read in the title, that is live and waiting for new posts. I just created it a few hours ago and thought I should share it with you all.

Who knows, maybe some would join it. As I wrote in the community description, it is intended to host posts related to news all over the world, on almost any topic, but it would be great to be something relevant for the world, and us, steemians reading such posts. Make it an impact and not just another share.

Whether you like to share crypto related new, political ones, or the latest and greatest in sports, feel free to use this community. It's an open space for journalists, amateurs and professionals, that have a passion for spreading the word out on the latest events in our society. I hope plagiarism won't find its place in this community, as no one appreciates copy pasting articles on the blockchain.

I would highly appreciate and advise at the same time, users to quote or link their sources of inspiration for their news dedicated posts. I have myself quite many such posts, and was thinking, after communities went live, to create one such new community. My favorite type of news related posts are the opinionated ones where one is not simply rewriting what big outlets are sharing online, but pours a bit of his personality in his posts.

I know from college that subjectivity has no place in true journalism but we're not employees of *The Times* so feel free to share your take on any news you decide to share in this community. Very often perspectives shared in a news article can make the topic much more relevant and transparent.

We're on a decentralized blockchain and opinions are highly relevant, so if you feel like commenting a Corona virus report, and not simply pass it forward, do that. Too often facts are manipulated and news have targeted readers and specific purposes in guiding them towards certain belief systems, and that can twist reality. Honest opinions might help digest better the facts and avoid being manipulated.

The only incentive that this community can offer, to its future users and subscribers, is simply being part of it, and it's uniqueness. I'm not a whale to support anyone posting to it with upvotes but I hope some will take it into account and reward the best posts dedicated to it. I can guarantee resteems to the most appealing news posted in the community, and my attention towards it as a whole.

Consider it a first step towards a new type of media, free of censorship, grumpy editors and blind public. Here you have your own square meter of freedom of speech, on a rewarding decentralized blockchain, that I hope you're gonna make use of it to the max. Waiting for your news shared in this community, created on a blockchain, and would appreciate a resteem if you feel it's worth spread the word about it.
