Steeming hot, Christmas reminisce & back to the grind!

<p><em><strong>Fuck a duck, my Steem account has just shot up a fair bit the last few hours. I imagine it's quite exciting for anyone with any real money in this thing!</strong></em></p>
<p>Anywho, first post back after the holidays. I'm now nestled back into HQ in Madrid following my trip to England.&nbsp;</p>
<p>I had the great pleasure of traveling between Xmas and new year which is always a classic with public transport and the other whimsical activity out there. It often reminds me a bit of Steve Martin in <em>Planes, Trains &amp; Automobiles</em>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ok, not quite that bad but fun and games nonetheless. That's what happens when you're from the deepest depths of Devon rather than around an epicentre of flight activity.&nbsp;</p>
<p>So spent a delightful 10 days or so in the UK, catching up with friends and family. Here's a little snapshot of Christmas Day at my sister and boyfriend's… we all piled in to their new house and also for a bit on Boxing Day (26th).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Then there was the good ol' Boxing Day swim which I/we didn't participate in this year but some brave souls did get in amongst the cold and choppy waters for a few seconds at least.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As for New Year's, I was back in Madrid. A little house party then in to town, of course taking 12 grapes at midnight (one for each of the chimes) as is Spanish tradition. I managed to gatecrash a party with a bunch of nutters, so worked well all round.</p>

<p>Back to work now I should imagine. It's still a kind of holiday vibe here as we still have the 3 Kings day which Spain celebrates on the 6th so back to normality on Monday. This was traditionally where the kids got their gifts but now I suspect the poor sod parents have to fork out for 2 sets of presents to cover both occasions. Consumerism and globalisation at its finest! ;)</p>
<p><em><strong>What for me this coming year? Well, I'm just deciding on a few things and will be sure to update here on plans and adventures…</strong></em></p>
