Investing In Real World Assets Through The Blockchain - Global REIT

<h2>Global REIT Project Introduction</h2>
<p>Global REIT (Global Real Estate Investment Trust) the world's largest decentralized global real estate investment trust. A platform is driven by the use of the innovative blockchain technology to provide great real estate investment opportunities for people all over the world.</p>
<p>In order to properly introduce the Global REIT platform, I will be defining a few terms which are going to be coming up often in this article and the subsequent ones I will be writing on this project.</p>

<h2>Investments &nbsp;In Real Assets</h2>
<p>Real Assets can be said to be those assets which are tangible, touchable and possess real value, in other words, physical assets. Seasoned investors, entrepreneurs and business-minded people, from different sectors of the economy, have always had a sizeable portion of their investment portfolios invested in real assets because, unlike financial assets whose value are gotten from their stakes on other assets, real assets derive their value from their own innate qualities.</p>
<p>Investment in real assets gives investors an edge over situations like inflation, change in currency prices and other economic factors. The different types of real assets include real estate, gold, infrastructure, farm/mining land etc.</p>
<p>Real Estate is, however, the sector of real assets investment that the Global REIT project is concerned about.</p>
<h2>Real Estate</h2>
<p>Real Estate can be put simply as a property that may consist of a land, the buildings on it and the resources it possesses.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Investing in real estate may not necessarily mean owning out rightly the land and its buildings, it may be owning a portion or space in that building or simply having a part of the ownership rights to the asset in question. Real estate investments are however not as easy as they may seem, because of a lot of regulatory, financial, geographical and legal requirements an investor is required to fulfill which are often different in different jurisdictions. In order to scale this challenges, a new system has been introduced and investors can make real estate investments through a trust, a real estate investment trust (REIT)</p>
<h2>REIT - Real Estate Investment Trust</h2>
<p>"A REIT is a company which owns, operates or finances income-producing real estate" - Source Investopedia</p>
<p>A REIT is tasked with providing the regulatory and legal requirements for its shareholders. Investors can now invest in real estate by purchasing shares of a REIT, the capital realized from this shares sale is then used by the REITs to purchase or invest in real estate assets. The investment returns are then shared amongst the investors according to their shares.</p>

<h2>Global REIT</h2>
<p>Global REIT is a decentralized real estate investment trust. Based on the blockchain, global REIT retains all the functionality of the proprietary centralized REITs but offers a lot more. Global REIT has been designed to tackle the challenges faced by the traditional REITs and by this, Global REIT is able to open its investors to more investment opportunities as well as more benefits from their investments.</p>
<p>Global REIT being a blockchain project means that unlike the traditional REITs which are opened to people in a particular geographical location and mostly having a particular baseline for minimum investment, Global REIT is open to everyone all over the world and its tokenized nature means investors can invest on the platform based on any amount they wish.</p>
<p>The Global REIT platform is going to be fueled by transactions made in its own personal tokens, which are the GREM and GRET tokens. This is the tokens that will act as a means for making investments on the Global REIT platform.</p>
<p>The blockchain is a technology that already has revolutionize a lot of different sectors, a lot of projects have been successful with their blockchain initiatives likewise a larger amount as also struggled. It is fair to say the blockchain provides a lot of opportunities and only the projects which are well planned and have a good concept to back up its tokens will excel. In the next article, I will be describing what sets Global REIT apart from other blockchain projects an why I believe the platform will be successful.</p>
