# Witness Update Report #26
Our current witness status, well another week has passed and everything is purring like a little kitten, no missed blocks, our server has been stable with no down time. The markets are unfortunately still very low and we continue to just keep on keeping on, it can hopefully only go up from here.
We would also like to give you guys an update and short summary of the livestream from @ned which took place last week Thursday. He asked the Steem community to post some questions which you can find [here](https://steemit.com/steem/@ned/third-livestream-test-tomorrow) as well at the link below to his livestream.
Ned mentioned a few causes and mentioned a few other important points at the start of the livestream:
- Steemit, Inc, is originally a Blockchain Development company. Many, including the ‘press’ currently reporting on the 70% lay-off still don’t fully grasp the difference between Steemit (Inc) and Steem.
- Steemit, Inc, has been focussing on too many tasks at the same time, spreading too thin because of it. The Blockchain Development should haven been their first focus.
- Many projects and dApps rely on the free infrastructure/API/nodes Steemit provides, while only a select few run and rely on their own. As a good example eSteem was mentioned, fully running on their own infrastructure which is important for further decentralisation.
A few suggestions from some community members were mentioned and discussed in the livestream by Ned, amongst which:
- Focus should be on reducing costs of running the blockchain, now mainly dependent on (expensive) RAM, by prioritising on developing rocksdb. Side-effect is more people and projects might start running full nodes, making Steem less reliable on the free logistics provided by Steemit, Inc.
- Smart Media Tokens are very complex, the suggestion to launch ‘Simple Tokens’ until they can be launched was mentioned and taken into consideration. Simple tokens should allow many communities to continue with their plans while also serving as a way to get investors interested in Steem
- Steemit.com could become a simple ‘wallet-app', phasing the ‘social site’ off, so people get directed to the many apps that better represent what Steem is about instead.

There’s still much to discuss and it was clear from the livestream Steemit, Inc has not yet made a final plan how to go forward from here. ADSactly will keep an eye on future updates to see what Steemit, Inc will communicate further on how to continue from here. We believe clear communication on what Steemit, Inc will do and what they don’t / can’t do is necessary for the community to understand where we stand and which steps to take themselves.

### Share Your Ideas
Cooperation is an essential, important part of all human endeavours. Without it, nothing would ever see the light of the day. No great project can be finished if people don't work together. Individual efforts are valuable but they are likely to be futile without good, mutually beneficial, coordinated cooperation. No individual can achieve a big goal solely by himself. It is simply impossible because each of us possesses only a limited amount of time, resources, knowledge and skills.

The essence of cooperation is grounded in sharing ideas. Never be afraid to share an idea. You might lose some of them along the way but always keep in mind that many more, even better ones will come in time. If a person doesn't communicate ideas, the projects will, most likely, never come to light. From our experience, it is better to create long-lasting relationships and share ideas among people who you trust, than to keep your ideas for yourself until they slowly fade away. If people accept your idea, they will always remember where to come for the next one. What's more, if an idea is profitable for a group of investors, they will share benefits with you. Benefits which would not exist without their investment and your idea.
