Write what you are passionate about, and something that you actually KNOW something about.

So, so, so true! Loved it! And content is the key to success... almost like everything in life! Maybe now with Steemit people will be more encouraged to write because in the past there was almost no serious place to write and write, because of the doubt that anyone will read those postings... Thats very informative. Less than 50 words is better to read bec. it is straight to the point. I cant wait the zapll to take over for its short burst of blog.

Pretty simple and solid advice, Im going to review it every time I get dry of ideas to return to the basics.

Is there a way to alter the size of the photos I include or is the only way to use photoshop before uploading. If the answer is the latter, where can I get some reference to use for cropping?

Many of the suggestions in here I will take to heart.  I agree completely about writing for oneself and what he or she knows.  Too many write for the payback which might or might not come.

I will watch the random photo deal.  I tend to go overboard with them too even when it isnt a photo post.
