Asking Question Skill and Factors that Influence the Habit of Asking Question
Questioning is one of the most essential teaching skill that must be possessed  by teachers to improve learning quality and learning outcomes. Through the questioning skill,  teachers can detect barriers faced by students in learning, improve and develop the learning process to achieve maximum results in learning. Therefore, teachers are required to be able to motivate students to be more active in asking question during the learning process.

Habit of asking question is an important thing to be done by students in learning. Asking questions about what is being learned will improve students' critical and analytical thinking skills. By frequently asking questions, students will be trained to think about the lessons they are learning by asking for a direct explanation from the teacher verbally. By asking, students will be trained to manage the information gained from their teachers, or to ask what is not understood through teacher explanation. By asking questions, also, the student will be trained in his personality to always be courageous and confident.

Fortunately, some studies say that there is a relationship between the habit of asking students with student achievement. 
>*According to [Ribowo(2006)](https://natalia778.wordpress.com/2013/01/16/menumbuhkan-keberanian-siswa-untuk-aktif-dalam-pembelajaran/), one of the importance of asking questions is to achieve the expected goals in a teaching and learning process in the classroom, which arouse students' interest and curiosity towards a subject, focus students on a subject or concept, diagnose special difficulties that inhibit students learn, give opportunity to students to criticize an information that they get, encourage students to express opinion in discussion, test and measure student learning results*

By asking students to be encouraged to interact with their classmates or interact  with teachers, it allows students to be more involved and more responsible to the questions asked. Such a process can create a learning atmosphere that focuses on student-centered learning, where students are more active in learning and the role of teachers as facilitators. 

While students who are not actively asking questions will tend to miss lessons during the class, they are not involved in discussions and have no initiative in solving problems. Such students will be sluggish in thinking and processing information from teachers' explanations of learning materials, and they also have less confident personalities and do not dare to engage in learning. In this case, teachers should be able to motivate students who rarely ask questions to be more involved in learning. 

Therefore, based on the above explanation it can be understood that there is a relationship between the habits of students ask questions with student achievement

#### Factors that influence students' habits to ask question 
##### 1. Interest in asking question 
Interest has the greatest role in student learning activities. Students who have an interest in learning a particular problem will tend to prefer to ask what they have not understood. Interest will encourage students to know more about what they love. Thus, students do more towards it either through asking or directly involved in learning activities. The high or low interest of students on one lesson will depend on the students 'awareness for the students' curiosity. In this case, teachers play a role in fostering students' interest through a variety of interesting learning activities.

##### 2. Curiosity
Great student curiosity towards a lesson will encourage students to be more involved in the lesson. One way students do to fulfill that curiosity is to ask questions about what they do not yet understand. 

##### 3. Motivation from teachers
In addition to being a facilitator, teachers also play a role as motivator to increase students' interest and curiosity about the lessons they teach, and to engage students directly in learning activities. As a motivator, teachers should motivate students to ask for the development of the student's personality to be more daring to express and confident and to the students' knowledge of the lesson. 

##### 3. Learning atmosphere
a pleasant learning atmosphere will influence students to be more involved in learning activities. with a pleasant atmosphere will generate student interest to ask questions and engage in any learning activities. This will have a positive effect on student outcomes and achievements. 

In conclusion, students' asking question play an important role in learning. The habits of asking question in the classrooms will give  positive effects on students' learning achievement. In this case, the teacher has the main roles as a fasilitator and motivator in building students' interest, curiosity, motivation and creating interesting learning as the factors that influence students' habits in asking question while learning the lesson.
