Being a man is not as easy as what it seems. You were born as a man or a male but do you really know what it takes to be the man who people will look up towards him in any undesirable circumstances? A man who is good enough to called a leader, the head of his family, the leader of his workgroup or a public figure to his society and community? This is what a real man is. We can take our own father as an example, the finest yet nearest example we can have. Our father is the leader of our family. The way man brings himself affects how the world perceives him. Some men underestimate the impact they have in this world. The old definitions need to be challenged. On that note, I believe every man should posses these **10** great qualities:
### (i) He React And Respond

It takes maturity, patience, discipline and persistence to filter oneself and think about others before one responds. A response requires thought, meta-cognition and wise-thinking. A reaction is instinctual. A real man knows how to react and respond right according to any situation that he is in or the people around him are facing. Boys react but they don’t know how to respond. Real men react and respond.
### (ii) He Treats Women With Respect

A real man treats women with respect. His mother, sisters, friends or wife, he treats them with respect and know that it takes no physical altercations to prove something. He is willing to put aside his ego for a moment for the sake of others, and mostly for the benefits of everyone around. This doesn't mean he is easy to be controlled, but he knows when and where to use his self-control.
### (iii) He Is Always Dependable

In his nature, a real man posses a sense of leadership and parenting. He is always dependable. Whether he is the leader of his own family or the leader of his company, he is independent and dependable. He makes time for his family even if it’s just a little time that he have to spend with his family. Because a man who doesn’t even have time for his own family can never be a real man.
### (iv) He Lives For Something

He lives for something more than himself, a purpose and motivation beyond his own personal gains. This includes time, money, life’s goal, ambition and even a family. He knows that certain things in life don’t always happen right away. He always give something but don’t expect anything in return.
### (v) He Learn From His Mistakes

A real man will try to examine his defects, evaluate his strengths and weaknesses. He practice transparency and non-defensive qualities within himself. He express how he feels. He don’t even try to become someone he's not.
### (vi) He Find Intensity Through Adversity

He knows how to handle confrontations by acknowledging, taking responsibilities and making choices. A real man moves forward to change, either for a greater purpose or even for a better future. He will find his intensity to cope with any other problems through adversity. The harder he falls, the higher he bounces.
### (vii) He Thrives Through Competition

Healthy competition is a good thing. He don’t look at competition as an obstacle but a catalyst for him to be better. Competition may be tough but that though thing will ensure that he will learn something new that makes him wiser.
### (viii) He Takes Care Of His Own Pride

Pride is what every person has within themselves. Make no mistake, pride is not an ego. Pride can be turned into an honor. Honor what keeps a man true to his self-value. A real man takes pride even in how he looks and the way he lives his life. For a second, he’s not even ashamed of who he is, what he does, and mostly, other people's expectation. But he’s also not afraid of adapting and changing anything that’s wrong within himself.
### (x) He Fight For The Right Things

A real man is not always the hazardous-type or a fan of violence. But when something worth fighting for, he knows how to put his guard on. It doesn’t always have to be saving the world. It could be a career, a passion, an ambition, a marriage, a family and all the things that he loves. Fighting for one’s position in life, standing up to the true things, expressing his voice or even to become a better version of himself. He sticks to something he believes in, even if others don’t or won’t. A real man’s character is the main foundation for his own empire.
### (xi) He Is A Good Learner. He Is Also A Great Teacher

Experience and mistakes are the best teacher for everyone in this world. A real man will learn from his mistakes and he teaches other people not to make the same mistake that he did. He believes that he can’t expect people to learn all things from him because they must discover it on their own for a better change and evolvement within themself. He knows he can’t force people to change. He can only help them discover it. He is a catalyst. He is the source of development.
