In the world today, China seems to be the major loan shark with a lot of countries indebted to it including the US. China has lended out a lot of money to several countries especially developing and undeveloped countries and although they are trying to assist this countries financially, it now looks like China is using the Debt-trap diplomacy .

It is no doubt that China lends out a lot of money to developing countries for infracstructure purposes, and recently, the loans to countries have increased. About 150 countries are owning china a certain amount of money in the world making it the highest lender in the world both as a country and more than that of financial organization.


It now currently looks like china is lending out unrealistic amounts to this countries as it is visible that they might not be able to pay back. Since China still want to increase its silk road network project, there is a chance there will be money loaned out this countries thereby increasing their debts.

This debt now makes developing and underdeveloped countries look like they are into modern slavery and China's influence keeps growing. Such influence is often felt in international meetings and conferences where there is a vote against china, most countries in debt with China would either support China or prefer to remain neutral.

China will not stop loaning money to countries anytime soon but the quetion remains will these countries be able to pay back this loans and will China stop the Debt - Trap Diplomacy
