Evaluating the current condition of CVG's building in CBO 🚧
Yes it is. 🏗️

A female civil engineer like me is telling you. Even structures might being ill with the presence of rifts and decay plus damages that shows an evidence of urgent maintenance they need as soon as possible. This is an important place that before served as the main headquarter of Guayana's Venezuelan Corporation (CVG), but now it's the current seat of Bolivarian University of Venezuela (UBV), located in front of the Diamond's Market in Germania avenue.

As a professional of a career like this that once also wanted to study architecture, I really love the design itself, outstanding after all the facade, where you can appreciate how the sun is forming those lovely shadows during the day's development.
So I've thought on talking about this situation from a technological point of view because concrete is vulnerable to the pass of time and humidity that is able to cause mold. Concrete, that unique invention of construction that consists in a selected but calculated mixture of cement, shredded stone, water and additives, needs a special attention believe or not. Concrete has its own technology of mixing, putting and curation, just like the title of a good book I've studied when I was a student of civil engineering, Concrete's Technology of Adam M. Neville. Let's go by parts to see carefully what I figured out during a brief visit at the building.

# External view

Climate in form of constant rain is always aggressive and this isn't the exception over the surface of construction materials. With the inevitable increasing of pollution nowadays, acid raining is more common than we can even think and the main evidence are the streaks of mold everywhere, specifically near the current name of university. A treatment over is necessary to improve the general aspect that the building is needing.

# Internal yard

Drop by drop the water is able to destroy the hardest rock. It's not strange to me using the liquid in this way as a millenary torture that worked very well. Water is the worst enemy of any building for sure and the glasses of central ceiling, moreover of improving the illumination through the sun's bright during light day, they're not helping out at all if their broken status are remaining the same for few of them. They are allowing the entrance of water each time there's rain season and the interior area is always looking wet.

# Columns' rifts

It is supposed not to see a considerable length of rifts in a building, specially in columns which are responsible to maintain the stability, unless the structure has suffered a big earthquake, but Guayana's region is well known as one of the stablest places in the country to have a good behavior in front of Earth's events like this. Once again I emphasize the emergency of taking care of the structure's health that before served as the headquarter of Guayana's Venezuelan Corporation, a national important institution.

# Floors' status

I guess someone spilled a huge but strong substance that left on the long time a large white streak on the already deteriorated floor that couldn't looking better for my camera. By paying attention to clean this zone as soon as possible, that was capable to remove it, although right now is very difficult to do. How sad to see the mean anarchy of certain entities during my short visit to the university. Not any particular mention on the rifts that those floors are also having like the columns.

# New painting

There's a traditional habit of people to paint their houses' facades with a new hand and color of course to receive the new year with renovation of energy and good vibes. Here you are the current but embarrassed aspect of internal surfaces of this scenic place, no matter if they're walls or ceilings, they need a renovation right now. For sure this is such the consequence of no having a look on any building.

https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVZd8XfSHAAHJjufxRRWb5SLXRFZRaLsBYe7J3F9GnSk5/IMG_20220421_184554.jpg

# Lax classrooms

As an university now, students are receiving classes under bad conditions like no air conditioner and stranded elements like desks, ugly ceiling, etcétera. I don't think anyone can be feeling motivated so easy by studying in such situation even classes are free. More importance is needed to the future professionals of our nation.

https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUkja1x8JJnfSRU9pevsZZ27xATuGkBQagBHMxSpan2Tr/IMG_20220225_102651.jpg

# Exposed elements

Due to the absence of some expanded polystyrene sheets as ceiling, those metallic bars are now under the influence of external sources like wind, dust and humidity that will accelerate the rusting of these important structural elements and that's not good indeed an large space of time.

https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQLGyN8sncMv1oFL9vQE5GFmmwAiLFt1szsyC58zmd9xf/IMG_20220421_183813.jpg

# Welded lift

And finally, this really took my whole attention when I saw carefully what is going on at the center of the lift door and I discovered something I never thought to find in a determined moment in my life and it's the fact to see a little metallic piece that is keeping close the entrance to the interior. Definitely this will kill the curiousness of children. Well, I think I might be faced to stranger situations around the world if I look for in internet.

Well dear readers, if you have been reaching out to this final point of article, let me say Thank You by doing it. For sure I'm always grateful. See you next time soon. Lot of regards.

Yeah. This is such a sad situation that I'd like to start seeing by taking a new spin of change. I'm hoping for better things on the constructions in general here at the country because the most are essential for cities' development. Thanks for attending my text. Regards.
