One of the illustrators that I like the most is Rébecca Dautremer. This book came into my hands thanks from the brilliant @escriptora, who is always looking for a way to send me sources of inspiration for illustration. A few days ago I was reading it and decided to do this little exercise, a kind of fan art /book cover.

Este libro llegó a mis manos gracias a la brillante @escriptora, que siempre busca la manera de hacerme llegar fuentes de inspiración para la ilustración. Hace unos días estaba leyéndolo y decidí hacer éste pequeño ejercicio, una suerte de fan art/portada de libro.


Cyrano de Bergerac is a work written by Edmond Rostand, in the late 1800s.
>Cyrano de Bergerac es una obra escrita por Edmond Rostand, a finales de 1800. 

It is about the story of Cyrano, a poet soldier with a huge nose. Cyrano is in love with his cousin Roxane, to whom he does not dare confess his love due to his nose that he considers horrifying. On the other hand, Christian also loves Roxane. But Christian is not as ingenious or romantic as Cyrano, that is why Cyrano decides to help him declare his love for Roxane, being he who writes the letters, declaring his feelings in some way, although these letters are attributed to Christian.
>Trata sobre la historia de Cyrano, un soldado poeta que tiene una nariz enorme. Cyrano está enamorado de su prima Roxana, a quien no se atreve a confesarle su amor debido a su nariz que el considera horrorosa. Por otro lado, Christian también ama a Roxana. Pero Christian no es tan ingenioso o romántico como Cyrano, es por ello que Cyrano decide ayudarlo a declararle su amor por ella siendo él quien escriba las cartas, declarándole sus sentimientos de alguna forma, aunque estas cartas sean atribuidas a Christian.

If you want to know how this drama ends, I recommend that you read some of the versions of Cyrano de Bergerac, or read the play itself. You can also see some of the films made based on it.
>Si quieren saber en que termina este drama, les recomiendo que lean algunas de las versiones de Cyrano de Bergerac, o que lean la obra misma. También pueden ver alguna de las películas que han hecho basadas en esta obra.

So far, my favorite Cryrano book is this one, illustrated by Rébecca Deutremer, in the Taï-Marc Le Thanh version. It has beautiful illustrations in the characteristic Rébecca style, and Cyrano's huge, really huge nose is ornate.

I want to make a special mention to the play that received very good reviews: Cyrano de Bergerac, adapted by Martin Crimp, directed by Jamie Lloyd and interpreted by James McAvoy.

# The illustration / La ilustración

So I decided this fan art in the form of a book cover. My work as an editorial illustrator is based on making illustrations for books, both for children and young people, and also on making book covers. Following my style of certain realistic proportions, I decided to make this Cyrano profile, a modern version of it, to some extent inspired by McAvoy, with a warm color palette.
>Así decidí este fan art en forma de portada de libro. Mi trabajo como ilustradora editorial se basa en hacer ilustraciones para libros, tanto para niños como para jóvenes, y también en hacer portadas de libros. Siguiendo mi estilo de ciertas proporciones realistas, decidí hacer éste Cyrano de perfil, una versión moderna de él, hasta cierto punto inspirado en McAvoy, con una paleta de colores cálidas.
