<H3>Mode of life:</H3>

The snake is a streamlined scaled reptile that preferrably lives in hot and humid areas across th entire planet. There are more than 2,700 species, some living on land, some in water, of which 300 are venomous. Being reptiles, snakes are not able to maintain their body temperature, which is why they need external heat sources to no lapse into torpor. Although they are usually rather solitary, some also live in pairs, and during hibernation gather in groups of hundreds in caves. By means of excellent tactility the snake is capable of feeling even very subtle quakes or vibrations so that it can accurately measure the trigger's magnitude, while refined olfactory sense allows the snake to detect prey over great distances. On the other hand, snakes have relatively poor eyesight and cannot close their eyes because they don't have lids. Most snakes can move their lower jaws back and forth independent of each other, even unhook them for the purpose of devouring prey that is much bigger than themselves. Snakes come about with all sorts of color patterns that serve camouflage and warning enemies. They slough twice a year and grow over their entire life. The longest snake ever recorded was the anaconda with a body length of 12 meters. As carnivores they eat almost any animals they can vanquish, nonetheless they consume food very rarely, because as cold-blooded animals with a very low metabolism they are able to drawn on their prey over long periods of time. Snakes normally become 20-30 years old, never older than 40 years.

<H3>Spiritually light aspects:</H3>

Snakes teach us spiritual transformation and to lovingly embrace our physical body, hissing:"Peel off your old skin from time to time so that the true essence of Love that you are at your core can come ever more to the fore. Sweeping away the debris of long bygone emotional and mental toxins by means of meditation in silence and letting go with love is the remedy that will stop the unconscious autopilot havoc to be further wreaked on your physical body." Our body is always a mirror of the Soul, and while a beautiful outside is not indicative of the inside, a beautiful inside always reflects itself on the outside. It's the aura surrounding a person that makes it stick out of hundreds. Moreover, the snake guides us to listen to our gut feeling; it is the bodily linkage into our intuitive sense that analyses all invisible factors that the brain logic cannot retrieve due to exclusively relying on the five physical senses. Applying brain logic might bring short-term relief but it lacks long-term acumen, while gut decisions are bullet-proof against bad surprises in the long run. Connecting with the snake gradually increases trust in our gut.

<H3>Spiritually dark aspects:</H3>

Those with the snake as their spirit animal might use doublespeak and are prone to sexual addictions. If hurt, the snake loves to play off people against each other through duplicitous schemes, if not for egotistical reasons of self-enrichment then out of envy or jealousy. Usually the snakes tries to implement plots by means of seductively triggering others' libido, a strategy that it considers safe because the snake itself can barely overcome sexual temptations. Essentially, snakes prefer lie over honesty when in a predicament and don't eschew shamelessly pointing at others when it helps extricating themselves from cross-examination.
