It isn't going to make any difference I think, I too am fed us with the steem price, I thought the value of steem will never go below 1.6$, I always thought its the minimum value below which the price can't fall, I was wrong, I have been using steemit very less in the past few weeks, it's because of the price drop I think.
I wish there are golden days to come in future for steem. Wating for them.

I feel very sad for you. I know your writing is top class but I want you to get rewarded for that.

How attached are you to the place you live in? if all you want to do is write and live of it, you can easily live in a south American country for 300$-400$ a month... you just need to learn Spanish... but for example, I'm moving from Venezuela to Peru soon, completely different reasons to yours, but you can rent rooms for 50$ a month and apartments for 100-150$ a month. 

We can always go back to earning absolutely nothing on other social networks

Relying on STEEM only for your main source of income is probably not the best idea I've ever seen. I'm sorry to be blunt, but perhaps trusting in incredibly volatile crypto for one's main source of income is a HUGE risk and personally, I think very silly idea. Sorry your dreams are melting away, but so are many others' too. At least you can write very well. I couldn't dream of writing as well as you do. It's a skill that's worth something to someone out there. You're smart. Learn how to sell that skill and you'll be just fine. I hope price of SBD and STEEM will go up, but there's no telling..  Good luck to you and in some sense to us all.

Don't despair...i have high hopes that SBD price will rise up soon. I wouldn't be selling it right now, since the ratio sbd/steem is at 4.15% and from what i read so far at 5% SBD stops being printed and everybody owning sbd will see it price increase.
Try to get a minimum wage job for now and wait a few more weeks and all will be good again.

Hey Alex, an easy thing you can do to earn more is make a wordpress website and use the steempress plug in to publish your blogs from the wordpress website to steem.  Steempress just got a million SP delegation from STINC and they use a bot to vote posts made with the plugin - the bot has an algorithm that seems to heavily reward higher REP users.  Nearly everyone I know who has decent REP and has posted to their blog from wordpress using the plugin gets regular votes that are quite nice.  Good luck!

Hey Alex, I'm really sorry to hear the news. If I had enough steem to make a difference I'd give it to you. One thing that you might be able to do over there that may work is drive by home inspections. It doesn't require any licensing or special know how. You can usually find companies on craigslist looking for people to drive by houses and take pictures of the exterior and send it to them via smartphone app. They pay between $8-$25 but if your do a decent amount of them you can make some immediate income (without benefits of course) and may be able to divert some of these problems. Look under real estate on craigslist in your area. Or, maybe do some of the online tutoring that that have on craigslist, that's also immediate income and easy to jump into. Lastly, another powerdown may be the way to go if worse comes to worse...

Well i think just hold on and don't get disappointed because the next bull run will start in next couple of weeks and then we surely see at least 30k bitcoin 10$+ steem and obviously SBD will also rise.

That's me! I can still barely live of Steemit if I stay in Venezuela, but I'm not planning on doing that because Venezuela is a bad place. I made 150 USD a month for about two months, and now the price dumped, the bots stopped being profitable and I'm left at maybe $30 a month. 

When I was making 150 a month, I was dreaming with increasing that income to 300 to 600 in order to be able to live in another South American country at least, and maybe in a few years get to the thousands and live in Europe. The dream!

But now I see that this is not as much a world for our "kind" as much as I imagined it to be. I wonder what the future will bring. I hope it's good. For now, I wish you good luck with karma. As believers sometimes tell me, "may God repay you". It sounds so bad until we're about to hit rock bottom and there's no safety net to stop our skulls from splashing the ground.

I would suggest a better idea, rent that old home to fulfill the bank loan if you had taken. And live in a small house for 2-3 months as a renter after 2-3 months sbd will definitely gain its old value. The pain is only for the short term. But after this gains will become the permanent term:)

While I sympathize with your situation, personally I am really happy it is back at $1,- now and I really hope, for the platform, that the devs and witnesses will [find a way to make the peg stick](https://steemit.com/sbdpegging/@mattockfs/sbd-back-at-usd1-can-we-discuss-double-and-quarrupal-pegging-now)  this time. 

For me, the reason I want a 'stable' pegged SBD is that I would very much like to buy and sell services here. I'm a software developer who has writing fiction as a hobby.  So I would, for example, love to sell my services as a dev and then use the SBD I make in doing so to buy services to aid my self-publishing, such as editing, cover art design, etc.  If SBD is all over the place, I can neither set myself to buy or sell services for SBD. I really hope the devs and witnesses understand this and will work now to keep the peg intact.  In theory, this should help you too, as it would allow you to sell services, as it would anyone else here I hope.

Is there any reason you haven't branched out yet with your self publishing?

Hello alex. A lot of new users visit your pages, because they like the content. When steem/SBD were up the amount of $0.020 votes or less you got were not a real big issue, it was not a big issue with a lot of people. It was only a couple of months ago that most of us even learned  about a dust level vote from @timcliff.

@davemccoy and @danielsaori came together and created the dustsweeper. This is not a vote bot. This is a saving type account.  1SBD will rescue about 70 dust level votes, bring them to payout status, not only votes received on Content post but also votes received on comments. So instead of no reward from a less than 2 cent vote, you will now get a small reward, and the person that gave the vote will get a small reward for curation whereas before that vote would been burned up a if it was tossed in front of your flame thrower.

I gave a starter dustvote gift to you I hope it helps, you should start seeing results almost right away.

my friend, I'm really devastated hearing that from you, your post does make sense, it is because of the situation you are in right now that makes you to think otherwise,  Steem price is getting more dip, I have the believe that before August, there would be a slight change for you to have enough to pay your rent and some other stuff. But you actually make me laugh with your sarcastic tone in the pieces. Such is life, I can say you aren't that lucky this time because of the price, I asked these why is it not last month or two months back that you need this money.  I also learned that you should always have liquid steem and sbd besides our steempower, we could urgently in need of money at any time.

I've been living the Steem dream since last September too, admittedly my costs are less where I am, but that's not to say I don't appreciate the pinch.

While you can only guarantee your own vested stake value per post, the dark side of self-voting and BB delegations has hit the platform hard. I'm hopeful we'll be out the other end at some point, and I hope it's sooner rather than later for you.

Hello @alexbeyman.  You obviously have a high steem power and so I expect you to be getting more than what you are getting now. 

I don't know your voting pattern,  but maybe you should experiment more of voting other people's post than their comments in you post and see whether there will be improvement.

Hey Alex, I don't always see your stuff but I always try to help out with my meager upvote when I can.  I've always thought it was amazing that you have been living off of steem for so long, and if you can continue, that's great!  Just try not to feel so negative about the current situation (Much much easier said than done!).

I know it is discouraging to see other accounts get their "moment in the sun" with whale support, but when they lose that support, I bet they would have less genuine support than you do now.  You're a smart guy and a good person, and karma seems to be a real thing in my experience, so keep up your faith in humanity and yourself, you can overcome this difficult time!
