Movie Review: "Fifty Shades Freed" (2018) - I can not help but smile through the movie, if not laughing freely.

If you intend to watch this movie, chances are you've watched Fifty Shades of Gray and Fifty Shades Darker, and understand the quality of the movie. You are already wondering what you will see. For a movie size of bold sexual activity, watch the adaptation films of E.L's novel. James is just like doing a bed routine that so-so only. So, the prospective audience of his newest movie, Fifty Shades Freed seems to have only two types: (1) masochists who want to torture themselves through bad movies, and (2) less picnic viewers who want to laugh through the bad movie. Both will definitely enjoy this movie.

I do not know where I belong, but I can not help but smile through the film, if not laughing freely. I enjoy this movie. Seeing these people experiencing first world problems seemed to witness the melodrama sinetron. They are endowed with grace and blessings that are so abundant, but complain about relatively trivial issues with a very serious face. Know who is willing to swap positions with them? Everyone's all right. Lha, how come I feel sad.

Ah, perhaps they want to show us a picture of the slogan "money can not buy happiness". What a useful film.

In fact, Christian Gray (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) are a dull couple; plek wearing a standard template of a rich man's love story with a female husband. Initially we hope "kinky f ** kery" will make them more interesting, but we know we're in-PHP. Instead, after watching these three films, I realized that they are entertaining thanks to their ridiculous personality, dialogue, and character. The people around them, especially the maids and bodyguards who were told this (whether sincere or not), might be able to give more weighty stories and dramas.

But it will undoubtedly discourage viewers who covetly crave Gray's gracious wedding. Yes, after applying Ana, Christian held a glamorous wedding followed by a honeymoon to Paris, by boarding a private plane. "This is yours?" Ana asked. "Ours," replied Christian. Ana is touched, and you can chuckle.

Unfortunately, this honeymoon did not go smoothly because of an interruption from Jack Hyde (Eric Johnson), former Ana boss who now swerved into a stalker, kidnappers, and tukang threat. Jack wants revenge on Ana and Christian, most likely because he lost his job as an editor at a magazine company. He sabotaged the Gray company, so Ana and Christian had to go home.

As the investigation proceeded, Christian returned to work as usual, which included: (1) wearing a suit in the office and telling people to do something, and (2) not wearing anything at home and doing "something" with Ana- this time halal because they are married. But Ana does not want to be confined. Although Christian is the boss of her boss Ana, but Ana wants to pursue a career in accordance with the professionalism in work. When I say professionalism, this film exemplifies it with Ana who told her assistant to "change the font to a larger size". Okay.

Christian's way of understanding Ana is still long. Not wanting his freedom tied up by marriage bonds (including topless sunbathing on the beach), Ana instead beckons one of the domestic romanticisms in marriage: having children. Ah, women are full of mystery bro Chris. This is the moment where we see Christian as a grown man who has a class mentality of children who have many expensive toys. He was jealous, not willing to share love Ana with others. If I remember correctly, this is the main conflict in the movie, because later we will see a serious drama scene where Ana finally wrath to Christian. They look like mothers who are scolding their spoiled children (yes, honestly the dynamics of their relationship is a bit creepy anyway). "Grow the f ** k up!" Ana barked to Christian.

My laughter broke.

But maybe I remember wrongly, because somehow this problem is not discussed again later. Instead, we'll meet Jack again. It turns out Jack has a past with Christian. No, not as you imagine, the bottom of a flirty reader. You could say this movie is like trying to bring a kind of thriller-style tension, which unfortunately is handled in a way that does not seem convincing at all. Well, it's like a sinetron conflict.

Fifty Shades Freed is sold as a climactic movie, promising the most hot films of the past two films. We may blame the posters and trailers for offering fake peak orgasms. But the title is correct-this movie gives freedom, making us breathe easier. The erotic scene, as usual, is too calculated and needs more spontaneity. But Johnson and Dornan looked more relaxed. They are engrossed in playful scenes, for example in parts involving ice cream.

The film is directed again by James Foley with a script that was worked on by the husband of the author James, Niall Leonard. Foley has made relatively good films like At Close Range and Glengarry Glen Ross, but Fifty Shades Freed certainly will not be included by anyone in the same category as those films. In Fifty Shades Freed, he seems to already know what he should do, so do not try too hard. Foley knows that his only task is to satisfy the surviving audience to follow this series to the end. And for that, the film closes with a cut of iconic scenes from previous films while accompanied by his song "Love Me Like You Do" Ellie Goulding.

Presumably if we are familiar with something, he did not look so bad. Now I think I can re-watch all the Fifty Shades movies and give them a higher rating.
