Everybody seems to be going into photography these days. The art of photography has been elevated to a booming business. Digital cameras and editing softwares create visuals that are almost magical. The business of photography from my findings is very profitable. A highly skilled photographer with the right equipment and consistency can create wealth for himself. Photography equipment is expensive. High-quality digital cameras are sold in the region of hundreds of thousands of naira. So starting out as a photographer demands some investment of cash to procure the right gear in order to perform optimally.
There is a growing trend of young men venturing into the business of photography. In this part of the country, photography is a male-dominated profession. One day I began wondering if there is something else that is attracting young men into full-time photography other than the profit margin and passion for the job. It then dawned on me that photographers are always in the company of young women. More than 60 percent of their clients are single ladies.
I asked around and arrived at the conclusion that many male photographers are in the business because of the exposure it gives them to female clients. A female client can turn into a girlfriend, and to a fiancee and then finally to a wife. I was expressly told that Photography can get you laid. Young ladies are crazy about slaying on social media with stunning photos and hence many won't hesitate to be the girlfriend of a good photographer in order to get free photoshoots on a regular basis. Photographers are getting all the girls in this town. From pre-birthday shoots, to party shoots, to wedding guest shoots to random shoots, the photographer is King Solomon.

I was informed some few years ago that some photographers do nude photoshoots for some female clients. A photographer could get booked for a nude shoot appointment. On the D-day, he would shoot the nude pictures, and after the shoot, one thing can lead to another and before you say, Jack Robinson, the photographer might up shooting with his natural camera.
We all should be photographers but I wonder if it is ethical to get romantically involved with a client.
This reminds me of the assertion that male writers on Facebook are getting more than their fair share of girls on facebook. Someone once confronted me. He claimed I was dating three of my female facebook friends at the same time. I asked him for evidence. He showed me their profiles and according to him, their profiles all had the word "Sapiosexual" as part of their bio and thus since they are very active on my page, I must be doing some stuff with them offline.
I laughed. It was crazy because I have never had an inbox interaction with any of the girls before. All our interactions end in the comment section of posts.
Some of the ladies who describe themselves as sapiosexuals do not really understand the meaning of the term. It is just a buzz word that sounds cool to them. You can't be a sapiosexual and yet be dating a thug or someone who cannot express himself either verbally or in written form. By 'sapiosexual', I think they just want a rich guy who has intelligence/intellectuality as an added quality, but first of all, he must have the money.
A female writer, on the other hand, would have all sorts of men falling for her, both sapiosexuals and non-sapiosexuals.
The pool of female sapiosexuals is getting smaller every day in Nigeria, no thanks to the economy. There is nothing that turns the-average-broke-girl-looking-for-money on than a rich guy with a flashy ride. Therefore most of the girls who want these flashy material items cannot fall for a writer or an intellectual on facebook, no matter what the writer writes or does. The girl might admire a writer, read his posts, comment, like, share but they cannot fall in love with him unless he can provide the material items they crave for. Unfortunately, some writers fail to understand this, so they chase after the girls and end up getting burnt.
So you see the likely set of girls that fall for writers/intellectuals are the small pool of real sapiosexuals. When they do, it can be quite intense for both parties.
