According to a military communique, Lebanese Army reinforcements were sent to southern Lebanon after the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) crossed the U.N.'s "blue line" and began rolling out the barbed wire to place along the border. During the Israeli military's violation, the two forces came face-to-face along the border, when the IDF attempted to place barbed wire within the Lebanese territory.
