Taiwanese consumer electronics manufacturer High Tech Computer Corporation or HTC (TWSE: 2498) will launch its own specialized smart phone for cryptocurrencies, under the name of Exodus. HTC reportedly also wants to create its own network with each phone that serves as a node to facilitate commerce within it. Finally, the company is analyzing the possibility of selling the device for cryptocurrencies. "Through Exodus, we are excited to support underlying protocols such as Bitcoin, Lightning Networks, Ethereum, Dfinity and more," Phil Chen, head of development, told TheNextweb. "We would like to support the entire blockchain ecosystem, and in the coming months we will announce many more exciting alliances." If you follow carefully the electronics market, you should know that HTC has not done so well in recent years despite having created some great devices. In this context, it is possible to imagine that the company is betting on a cryptocurrency to give it a more tense brand to attract young people with a privacy mentality and to the public more knowledgeable about technology. However, other companies have explored the field before HTC and, therefore, it is possible that many more soon have support for cryptocurrencies built into their devices.
