Taxation is Theft?

Taxation is theft? Or would it be better described as extortion? It is both but extortion is a more accurate description for taxation.

Theft is the felonious taking and removing personal property with intent to deprive the rightful owner of it. This certainly is a good definition of taxation.

Extortion is the practice of obtaining something especially money, through force or threats. This also works as a definition for taxation and more accurate one in my opinion.

Taxation is the mandatory financial charge or some other type of levy imposed upon an individual by a government. Failure to pay or evasion is punishable by laws created by the state. This sounds a lot like extortion to me as in pay me or face a punishment. Both theft and extortion work when describing taxation, but extortion fits better.

The state is an extortionist the most powerful one in the history of mankind. You can not opt out or refuse to pay the extortionist. They will first demand more from you in a fine if you refuse the extortionist will send their enforcers to find you and capture you using as much force up to killing you to make you pay. Many argue that taxes are the price we pay to live in a civilized society. What is civilized about the used of violent force up the point of murder to get a payment? If you don't pay them they will imprison you how is that civil? Extortion is anything but civilized its a racket one if anyone other than the state tries will end up with a long prison sentence.

But aren't taxes needed for things like law enforcement to keep us safe? This is a protection racket which is exactly what the Mafia uses with their victims. Pretty much the mob would go up to business owners and demand payment for protection services if the victim refused the business would be trashed. If they continued to refuse they would get roughed up and eventually murdered. If you refused to pay the state protection they will find you arrest you and imprison you if you fight back they will use force up to the point of killing you. There is really no difference between the mobs protection racket and the states.

If there are programs or projects that you want funded but are not willing to voluntarily fund them it is worthless. To force others to pay for programs or projects that they are not willing to pay for voluntarily with the threat of violence is an immoral act.

Taxation is theft which is true but I believe extortion describes taxation far more accurately.
