ich hoffe, ihr habt die sonnigen Tage ausgiebig genossen. Ich habe es mal wieder leicht übertrieben und mir ein wenig den "Pelz" verbrannt. Daher muß ich mal einen Tag etwas langsamer machen. Diese Bilderreihe aus dem April dieses Jahres wollte ich schon lange gepostet haben. Das Titelbild zeigt die Wertheimer Burg vom bayrischen Kreuzwertheim aus.

I hope you've all enjoyed the sunny days. Once again I slightly overdid it and burned my "fur" a little bit. Therefore I have to slow down a day. This series of pictures from April this year I wanted to have posted for a long time. The cover picture shows the Wertheim castle from the Bavarian Kreuzwertheim.

Im Sommer kann man in dieser Lagune das kühle Naß des Mains genießen. Und das mit einem Hammerausblick. Aber ich muß leider mal einen Tag aus der Sonne raus... ;-)

In summer you can enjoy the cool waters of the Main in this lagoon. And that with an amazing view. But unfortunately I have to get out of the sun for a day... ;-)

Als Kind der 70er Jahre habe ich von der Ölkrise der 70er Jahre nicht viel mitbekommen. Negative Ölpreise hat damals meines Wissens nicht gegeben. Aber hatten womöglich gefühlt nicht nur die Autos damals noch viel mehr Ecken und Kanten, wie z.B. dieser gut erhaltene Mercedes 200D?

As a child of the 70s, I did not notice much of the oil crisis of the 70s. Negative oil prices did not exist then, as far as I know. But maybe not only the cars of that time had felt a lot more rough edges, like this well preserved Mercedes 200D?

Als KInd hat mich die malerische Wertheimer Altastadt an der Tauberseit auch nicht groß interessiert. Mehr als 40 Jahre später kann ich diesen Anblick nicht oft genug fotografieren. Auch im April 2020 war das so.

As a child I was not very interested in the picturesque old town of Wertheim on the Tauberseit either. More than 40 years later I can't photograph this sight often enough. This was also the case in April 2020.

Das Schlößchen im Hofgarten war in den 70er Jahren allerdings eine halb Ruine. Nach der Restauration steht das Gebäude, das heute für (Kunst-)ausstellungen genutzt wird mit seinem Park nun viel besser da.

However, the little castle in the Hofgarten was half ruin in the 70s. After restoration, the building, which is now used for (art) exhibitions, and its park is much better.

Der April 2020 war ein sehr sonniger Monat. Diese Bilder habe ich von der alten Mainbrücke aus gemacht. Direkt daneben stand in den 70ern noch eine Eisenbahnbrücke. Als diese in den 80ern abgerissen wurde, gab es ein ziemliche großes Unglück auf der Baustelle. Bei dem Abriss fielen Teile der Bücke in den Main. Leider forderte dieser Unfall auch Menschenleben. Wertheim schafft es normalerweise nur wegen des Hochwassers in die Nachrichten. Tragischerweise schaffte es dieses Ergeignis auch.

April 2020 was a very sunny month. I took these pictures from the old Main bridge. Right next to it there was a railway bridge in the 70s. When it was torn down in the 80s, there was quite a big accident on the construction site. During the demolition parts of the bridge fell into the Main. Unfortunately this accident also claimed human lives. Wertheim usually only makes the news because of the flood. Tragically, this event also made the news.

Für das Bier der Spessartbrauerei habe ich mich in dem 70er nicht interessiert. Eher für ein paar Kugeln Eis. Ich kann mich noch daran erinnern, wie schockiert ich damals war, als eine Kugel erstmals 50 Pfennig gekostet hat. Ich erinnere mich noch, daß mir meine Mutter meine Frage, warum alles immer teurer wird, damals nicht beantworten konnte.

I was not interested in the beer of the Spessartbrauerei in the 70s. I was more interested in a couple of scoops of ice cream. I can still remember how shocked I was when a scoop first cost 50 pfennigs. I still remember that my mother couldn't answer my question back then why everything is getting more and more expensive.

In den 70er Jahren waren in Wertheim noch die Amerikaner in den Peden Barracks stationiert. Diesen Skateboard & BMX Park gibt es aber erste seit diesem Jahrtausend. Die Amerikaner sind aus Wertheim schon lange abgezogen. Dafür haben wir aber jetzt "ihren" Sport. ;-)

In the 70s the Americans were still stationed in the Peden Barracks in Wertheim. But this skateboard & BMX park is the first one since this millennium. The Americans left Wertheim a long time ago. But now we have "their" sport. ;-)

Apropos Sport, diese Bilder habe ich natürlich auch alle auf einer Tour mit meinem Pedelec MTB geschossen. Diese schöne Ecke befindet sich am Kreuzwertheimer Mainufer.

> Als Kind der 70er Jahre habe ich von der Ölkrise der 70er Jahre nicht viel mitbekommen.

Oh, ich kann mich noch sehr gut an die autofreien Sonntage erinnern. Wir wohnten damals an einer sehr befahrenen Straße und ich war schwer beeindruckt, mit vielen anderen Menschen, die scheinbar die "Volkswanderung" wieder entdeckten, an Mamas Hand mitten auf dieser breiten Straße spazieren gehen zu können.

Dein bunter Post gefällt mir sehr gut und ich kann es staunend nachvollziehen, dass dich die tolle Umgebung bei euch immer wieder "zwingt", sie abzulichten!
