Like two peas in a pod .........

........ sat an older couple on little chairs under a stripy umbrella sipping tea and eating biscuits looking at families playing on the beach.  

What a fantastic scene, an 'iconic Australian' one commonly seen on our beaches over the decades.  But, it is a first for me  on my surf beach and one that I really wanted for my photo library.  So I did what any enthusiastic photographer would do, I snuck in a couple of pics hoping they did not mind.

They stood out sitting under the shade of their beach umbrella because my surf beach is a quiet one, not loads of people around especially now that school holidays are over.   

But, I did wonder who they were and where they came from because they looked like visitors, maybe caravan travellers who had come visiting for a weekend.   One thing I am very sure of, they did not get sunburned!

Aren't they sweet?  I just loved the flask of tea or coffee they had sitting on the sand.  I noticed that they were still in the same position under the umbrella when we went home.
