Even if they are not the same as the traditional bicycle, they are still referred to as bikes.</p> <p>You will pedal the bicycle and the chain will turn the wheels. You will need about the same amount of energy if you pedal a slow to medium pace as when you walk. The faster you pedal, the more energy you will need and the faster the bike will go.</p> <blockquote>To get efficient use of their pedaling, cyclists use a high gear when going downhill, a medium gear on flat surfaces and a low gear when going uphill. </blockquote> <p>Different activities are done with bikes and the one you will use in a race will be different from one you will use going cross country. For this you will need a bike with a good suspension. Before you buy a bike, you must first decide what you will use it for.</p> <p>A long time ago, before people started calling it a bicycle, they called it a 'velocipede', I am very glad they changed that.</p> <p>Bicycles has changed a lot through history, from the bikes that had to be pushed by the rider's feet on the ground, to the Penny Farthing to the bikes we know today.
