It only looks that way because the Sun is so far away from Earth and it is actually 300 000 times bigger than Earth.</p> <p>In space you will find many comets, not all always visible from Earth. One of them which are only visible every 75 years is 'Haley's comet'. The temperature there can be up to 450 degree celsius - you will be burned to a crisp.</p> <blockquote>Many scientists believe that an asteroid impact caused the extinction of the dinosaurs around 65 million years ago. </blockquote> <p>The solar system has been around for 4.6 billion years ago (just imagine what the solar system has been around for all those years.)</p> <p>If you look at the Moon you will see a lot of dark spots on it. Those are the craters that formed and the Moon has a lot of craters and scars - Earth has less, the reason for that being that there is more activity on Earth where the surface changes because of things that happens like earthquakes and erosion, wind and rain which does not happen on the Moon. The gravitation is less there and you will weigh less than on Earth.</p> <blockquote>Our mass is the amount of matter that <strong>we</strong> consist of. This mass <strong>does</strong> not change when <strong>we</strong> change planets. However, if <strong>we</strong> went from <strong>Earth</strong> to <strong>Mars</strong>, our <strong>weight would</strong> change because <strong>Mars</strong> has less gravity <strong>than Earth</strong>. Gravity is a force pulling matter together. </blockquote> <p>All the planets rotates in the same way that Earth does, but one of the planets spins on its side like a barrel. This is Uranus.</p> <p>Meteoroids move very fast and they can travel as fast as 42 km per second.
