@iamstan, I totally understand where you are coming from. 

As we discussed, there will always be the nuclear option that we may employ should we not garner the support requisite to disrupt the flow of inflation to bad actors.

In my opinion, the amount of inflation going to (and has already gone) scammers is probably one the biggest confidence killers in this chain. Too many are simply caught up in self-interest of their relative wallet size than preservation of token value.

I may continue buying my way up to dolphin but don't see myself going much further. It's not necessarily a code issue at this point but rather failure of most stakeholders to protect their own investment. Seems too many have succumb to the bystander effect.

"Someone else will flag that bid bot abuse post. Probably @steemcleaners"

"If I unvote my bid bot's vote on that post without a refund, I will lose curation and potential customers."

"If others won't do something, why should I?"

These statements and countless permutations thereof...

It's all about self-interest. Without SFR, flagging abuse means foregoing rewards one could have otherwise obtained had they simply voted themselves. People generally are too short sighted and will not do this.

Why should anybody expend energy to pick up that trash on the side of the road when jt is more profitable to litter or alternatively support those that litter (vote selling)?

SFR is lucky if we are able to clean up one street in a city full of trash. It's too bad most people don't care and that's why I would not recommend people put their life savings in a place like this...

But I have kept holding on to the hope that we can alter the course if we keep at it but things keep happening that make me think otherwise.

Most recently, I found it quite disheartening that the stakeholder known as @freedom / @pumpkin decided to undelegate to @utopian-io and subsequently delegate to a bid bot.

When the vast majority of abuse on the platform is bot sponsored, that is not a good sign for us.
