Greetings @lagiaguara!
Thanks for writing about this. It is indeed a problem and I often ask myself the same question that is:
> So, why do we keep on squeezing our brains to create something good
Sometimes, I struggle to rationalize the answer when it *seems* much more time expedient to do what these abusers are doing. Of course, that's where ones personal ethics may come into play and it is as you said. These individuals are devaluing the currency. I know that Anarcho-Capitalist or Libertarian principles are prevalent on this platform and I have heard them bring up this idea known as the non-aggression principle.
This may be a gross over-simplification of that doctrine but the way I interpret is, as long as you are not hurting anybody, it is ok. I think often this crowd may fail to assess secondary, tertiary and beyond effects of actions when considering harm.
This is where I will assert that abuse of the reward pool is morally wrong even if it doesn't directly harm or is it aggressive in nature. The secondary negative effects the devaluation of the currency has on the lives of others. That's the sort of behaviors that society would be prudent to find ways to minimize. I think we are working towards such a society but we still have a long way to go.
I would try to equate it to something like a village bicycle. Let's say there is just one asshole that doesn't treat the bike with care. Maybe they were taking a shortcut down a path that the type of bicycle wasn't designed for and ended up wearing out the tires quickly. Now, nobody in the village can use the bicycle all because of the careless actions of one.
To be frank, I don't think a blacklist is enough. It is too easy to circumvent and whitelists are not much better. When the bot owners need is to take a harder stance in my opinion. They are responsible for much inflation going to the crooked people of the chain. Some of us acknowledge this but we don't have too many options.
For example, I have had bot owners choose to leave votes on content that we agreed was abuse for reasons other than the substance of the content. I personally do not agree with this and think it is simply the bot owners choosing their vote selling business interests over properly curating.
That's just the way it is and why I desire to fork this chain. It could be a social experiment of what Steem what look like without so much corrupt curation. For the time being, I will hope the bot owners really step up their game and put in the time and resources for us to change the culture. One flag at a time.
Anyways, you did decent on this post. Remember to run it through a word processor spelling and grammar check for a higher score.
Also, my criteria for commitment is at least one month and 10 abuse related contributions before I will rate higher on the level of involvement. Keep posting and you will notice the difference.
