Another victim of a church restoration, never completed.
A work of the nineteenth century by an unknown author, but of excellent workmanship.
The artist's hand, I think it will tremble in the grave, disturbed by a carelessness, which in Italy is on the agenda.
A beauty, lost forever, as happens in many ancient churches and buildings in our <i>Bel Paese</i>.

Un'altra vittima di un restauro di una chiesa, mai portato a compimento.
Un opera  dell'Ottocento di autore ignoto, ma di ottima fattura.
La mano dell'artista, penso che tremerà nella tomba, turbata da una incuria, che in Italia è all'ordine del giorno.
Una bellezza, perduta per sempre, così come accade in numerose chiese ed edifici antichi nella nostro <i>Bel Paese.</i>

Potete vedere un dipinto su tela, con ritratta la madonna, letteralmente devastato dall'incuria, strappato dal telaio e portato a morire lentamente.

After numerous requests, through an acquaintance of mine, I managed to enter the ancient church of San Giovanni, in the historic center of Terracina.

An ancient sacred building, of the thirteenth century, of national importance.

This is only a visual document of what we have found inside this building, still consecrated, but closed for decades, due to a collapse of the vault, which occurred in 2008.
It is ridiculous and absurd, that in 2002 the roof was completely redone, with wooden trusses and it is my intention to prepare a post with all the visual documentation and the news.

Well, after the renovation of the roof, in 2008, the vault of the church collapsed, like a house of cards, causing openings on the perimeter walls.

Millions of euros thrown in the trash.

Dopo numerose richieste, attraverso una mio conoscente, sono riuscito ad entrare nell'antica chiesa di San Giovanni, nel centro Storico di Terracina.

Un edificio sacro antichissimo, del XIII secolo, di importanza nazionale.

Questo è solo un primo documento visivo di ciò che abbiamo trovato all'interno di questo edificio, ancora consacrato, ma chiuso da decenni, a causa di un crollo della volta, avvenuto nel lontano 2008.
Fatto ridicolo e assurdo, è che nel 2002 venne rifatto completamente il tetto, con capriate in legno ed è mia intenzione di preparare un post con tutta la documentazione visiva e la cronaca.

Bene, dopo il rifacimento del tetto, nel 2008 crolla, come un castello di carte, la volta della chiesa, causando aperture sui muri perimetrali.

Milioni di euro buttati nella spazzatura.
