Did you know that a lot of people are procrastinators? The truth is that a lot of people do procrastinate, it's just that society labels us as lazy or bad. Procrastination is just the opposite of being busy. It's the opposite of being busy and putting in the hours to get what you want done. Here are a few ways that you can not procrastinate and put yourself ahead of the game. https://edunewsnetwork.files.wordpress.com/2021/07/procrastination-1.jpg [](https://edunewsnetwork.files.wordpress.com/2021/07/procrastination-1.jpg) First, do your homework. If you have something that needs to be done and you don't know where to start, take care of that first. Go over everything that needs to be done, from marketing material to an invoice. Put it in a binder so that you have it all in one spot. This will help you get started and also keep you on task. Set goals for the day. Set a short term goal for today and write it down. That way when you get to work, you're already aware of what you need to get done and when. When setting goals for the day, focus on the most important things and the tasks that have the biggest impact on your day. These will be the tasks that you should tackle first thing in the morning. Don't wait until the last minute. Most people wait until the last minute because they have nothing planned. They then realize when it's really important that they don't have the energy to go through with it. Planning ahead of time really helps you get more done in less time. So if you procrastinate, plan ahead. Get started on projects and assignments early. You don't have to finish them but it's better to get started on the ones you have an interest in. Putting yourself ahead of the game by starting earlier gives you more time to ponder on important issues and they may be more interesting to you as well. Don't eat out of the trash. It's easy to say you're going to take out the garbage but not do it. Taking out the trash is part of the ritual for many people. But it's very easy to procrastinate and forget that you have a specific schedule for taking out the trash. Be sure to get this habit out of your system so you're never late taking out the trash again. Don't put off chores that must be done. Even small jobs like picking up the dryer or taking out the mail can seem like huge tasks. But you know they must be done. So be sure to get them done before you have a second to sit back and say, "I should have done it." You'll be amazed at how much you actually enjoy doing the small tasks you need to do to move forward. Get started today. Don't wait another day. Procrastination is a self-fulfilling prophecy. The longer you wait, the more behind you are and the more miserable you will feel. Get started and never look back. Make a list of just the things you must get done each day. If you can't do it tomorrow, do it the next day. This will serve as your roadmap to conquering the day. It's amazing how quickly we can move forward when we have a plan to move us in one direction. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Procrastination is often caused by fear. So if you need some help from a friend or coworker, be open and ask for their assistance. Be flexible. You may have a rigid timetable, but this doesn't mean that you can't move around and get things done at any time. So don't let time get in the way of getting things done. Keep moving forward and you'll soon have what it takes to get your dream job and live the life you've always wanted. https://nathvibe.com/media/2015/06/procrastination_pill.png [](https://nathvibe.com/media/2015/06/procrastination_pill.png) Don't give up on your dreams. If something isn't lining up, take it one step at a time. It may be frustrating at times, but don't give up. It will get better. In time, you'll find it's all worth it.
