LiTTLE CHERiNE Book 03 - post059

<sup>
*I suggest we try something new, as I think Pano will also want to see and learn what all of you will learn. Robert, may we move to the Sparkler beach? There, Pano will be present as himself, but I will be helping a previous incarnation of his to take its original form and share its thoughts with us.*
</sup>

1580

For many of us, this is the first time we have been invited and visited the beach, so it is a memorable day for us, just from that experience alone. What we learnt, saw, heard, shared while there, you name the different aspects of our experience, they were all stunning and have left all of us, even the Prime Family, breathless with excitement. I do not think many of us are going to be sleeping soon, so coffee, tea, Milo and cold drinks are being prepared, with some pastries for those who want something sweet (like me and Jacob, who like the typical British youngsters we are, we love anything sweet). I’m sorry Sam, I jumped ahead, can we return to the Sparkler beach?

To me it really felt like I am in my body - and the beach and ocean looked so real, stretching into the distance - that I found it very difficult to think of us as being in the void. It was tempting to imagine Solomon is toying with us and we are on some beach on Earth, but, the lack of a sun convinced me I am in the void.
We each appeared as we look in our real bodies, though not all of us were of the body age our real bodies were at the time of our leaving them to come to the void. Those who look older, could it be the change in age reflects or betrays a slight nervousness at being in an alien place? Robert and Cherine have the most direct experience, so they appeared dressed lightly, as if it is summer
.
We were sort of bunched close to each other, with Pano appearing between Jacob and myself. Solomon then appeared at a small distance, about ten metres from us, and a glistening drop of pearly light slowly revolved next to him.
Theatrically, Solomon pointed and called to us, “Friends, may I introduce Sargami, a male of the Heqisaal species, coming to visit us from the previous lifetime of Pano.”
The pearly light seemed to explode and as our eyes adjusted, we saw a humanoid figure, about the size of an eight year old boy, with beautiful white wings spread out in greeting (as we learnt later).
Prime Robert and Cherine took the hand of Pano in theirs and approached the alien. “Greetings Sargami, we are honoured to meet you. This is Pano, the future, for you, incarnation of your soul.”

Pano was not concentrating on being polite. He just stared at Sargami and it started to feel like a staring competition between them. Pano then asked, “Why are you so small, did you die while you were still a little boy?”
Sargami fluttered his wings and we sensed he is amused. “I am an adult, Pano. I take it you have misunderstood because your own size indicates you are a young one?”
“I’m not so small, I am nearly a man.” Then Pano had the graciousness to admit, “I am small, but it is because I could not find food and did not grow.”
Solomon was helping us to sense the emoting of Sargami and we sensed Pano had upset him. He turned to Solomon and spoke with an edge to his voice, “I am to be born among these aliens so as to starve? It is to be my future? Will it end soon?”
The cheeks of Pano reddened and Solomon held back his reply, sensing Pano is to speak.
“I am not starving now!” He pointed at me. “She found me and has been looking after me and she gives me a lot of food, so I will grow to be big and strong!”

1581

We all grinned when Samantha (only she from among us would do such a thing) went to Pano, took his hand from Robert and walked to Sargami. “Sargami, speak more gently, for you have made him suffer many times and owe him a kindness or two. We have stories about a people who have wings as you do and they, we call them angels, are considered holy by us. Pano, since he was a small child has had countless nightmares of himself killing an angel. The two of you should not be talking with all of us watching and listening, go for a walk and learn about each other. What you may learn from him is not as important as what Pano learns from you, for his life is still ahead of him and with your help he will grow into a person you and we will be very proud of. Pano?” Pano turned to look at her. “Remember your manners, he is an elder and you must show him respect.”
Samantha stared at them as they walked off, exchanged smiles with Solomon and returning, came to me. “Pano does not owe him respect, respect must always first be earned, but for now it is important he thinks he does, for it is as if Sargami is his guest.” I only had time to nod and she was gone, returning to stand next to Aganthi and her mother Natalie.
Robert, with a strange twisted smile, said to Solomon, “It seems Samantha has taken over and arranged for things to be done her way. Why not provide us with tables and chairs and food and drinks? Some of that wonderful beer from the world of Meli would be appreciated.”
Everything appeared, as requested, and soon everyone was either sitting or standing at the buffet table filling their plates. It was obvious that Robert had been joking, for he was startled to see it all appear. Within minutes everyone was talking and laughing as they ate and drank whatever they chose to drink - I say that because I saw Jacob had helped himself to a huge tankard of ale, but I kept quiet, after all, his body is not really real…and if he lived in Greece he would have been having a drink with his meal for years now.
After three hours we could see Robert becoming anxious, for some of us will have to return to our body soon, and Pano is one of them. Here, Solomon looks like a very tall and dignified elderly man, so I was not as comfortable approaching him as I am when he visits us as a little girl, but I had an idea and we were running out of time.
“Solomon, is it possible for you to give Sargami a body similar in appearance to Pano, back on our world…I mean, Terra.”
Solomon nodded and came to his feet. “I wise idea, for I fear they still wish to exchange confidences for a few more hours. Be careful that Sargami does not begin to think of himself as having rights to live another life on your world - Pano needs him back in his place.”
I asked, “Sargami and all the previous incarnations, they affect Pano?”
“We do not have enough experience to make a statement with any certainty, but we think so.”
“I better go speak to them.” I walked off without waiting for anyone to agree or disagree. Sometimes I behave this way if I feel it is important I do what I must do. Nobody tried to send me a message, so I don’t think I upset anyone.

Pano was not wrong to think of Sargami as a child, for he behaves like one. He is not very bright, though he does have a hard practical streak which does not belong to a child. He complained to Pano about not having his own body shape and Pano came to me, only amusement showing in his eyes.
“Can’t Sargami have his own body with wings for just a little while?”
“What are you hoping for?”
He had started off with the intention to play a prank, but suddenly his throat tightened and his eyes were aflame with anger as he told me, “I want to return to that horrible girl and tell her that the boy she killed has returned as an angel to pay her back and then have Sargami suddenly appear.”
I decided it is time we tell him of our plans for him. “Pano, I think Roberto is planning something much nicer - more satisfying than revenge. How would you like Robert to return in time and bring the little boy she killed? He can then be your little brother…since you are now older than he will be.”
He frowned for a while and then bravely told me, “Okay, when you leave, I am now big enough to look after him.”
All those who are born-Cherinians, even Samantha, are always surprised when a non-Cherinian shows qualities they think belong only to them. Their hearts reached out with love, but luckily Pano cannot feel them yet. By the way, in a sense the born-Cherinians are right, for when a Normal does exhibit Cherinian qualities, that person is linked and becomes a Cherinian, so maybe they are Normals who are waiting to hatch into Cherinians.
I have been wanting to ask whether I can take him with me when we return to our reality, but then I think to myself, what of the other Pano; also, doesn’t this one belong here? But if so, then with who? Nobody has spoken of adopting him. Am I the reason nobody shows they want him? Troubled by my thoughts, I went to Dommi and Dominique. I explained.
My Dominique is just as soft as Dommi, but her voice often sounds harsher. I ignore it when it happens, because I can sense her emoting - I wish nature had invented the gift of sensing emoting in others thousands of years ago, for I can imagine how much better the world would have been. If alien species are to read the history of our species, think how nice it would have been to give them all our history, devoid of the worst excesses of our past.
“Aren’t you forgetting something important Lillian? Pano does not need to be adopted, the Robert of this reality will be bringing his own mother back to life for him.”
I shook my head. “He should only do so after the Cherinian are secure on their own planet…God but I’m stupid! Samantha was giving me a hint when she wondered where Pano is going to go to live. She did not mean this Athens, we can take him to one of the realities where the Cherinians are known.”
Dommi touched the hand of Dominique and told her, while emoting unearned love for me, “My Robert was right, she is special. She never gets fancy with her needs or dreams, she always remains with her feet on the ground and the good person she was, when we first brought her to your Cherine for linking. People like her are the ones who are and will form the human backbone for us.” (Sam: I had to add what Dommi said about her, as Lillian is too modest to do it herself. When she tried arguing with me about it, I told her she should use me as her example - I believe in always telling all the truth. I ended up getting teased about the selfishness of my claim, but Lillian felt how good it made me feel, so she was not put off by it.)

1582

Prime Robert told a sea of worried faces, “I’ve been dreading this and I don’t know how to handle it.” Sargami has asked to be allowed to remain in the body he is using, to live out his life as a Terran boy. Empathy for Sargami was making it impossible for Robert to refuse him, and yet, empathy for Pano warns us and demands that we do. Not one of us could find the words to help Robert, even his Cherine only miserably staring off into the distance.
Samantha left her body and everyone seemed to cheer up a bit (I’d hate to be Sam, with everyone having such constantly high expectations of her - sorry Sam, but I want everyone who reads this to know how I feel…because I’ve grown to love you so much).
When she returned, Solomon appeared. He always tries to first take the time to greet everyone, some with a hug and kiss, even if he has visited earlier that day. Then he asked Pano and Sargami to sit by him.
“You’ve both seen the Worlds in the void and I presume you know that Robert named them the Kaleidoscope Worlds?”
“What is a kaleidoscope?” Pano asked, and Sargami nodded, pleased that Pano asked.
Rosie rushed to bring a kaleidoscope from their ‘toy room’. She showed them how to look into it and adjust it for the shapes and colours inside to keep changing. Then, anticipating the problem, she asked them whether they know what a holographic image is. She brought a table lamp the wives of Nicko bought at Disney World for Robert. She plugged it in and showed them how the NASA shuttle travelling around the light can be seen from all directions and gave a simple explanation of how it works.
Solomon took over again. “A few years ago, Robert told me that some of your scientists believe your brains are holographic, repeating all the knowledge it holds numerous times. This led to us examining some material-body-based minds and it seems the mind is also holographic and repeats itself in patterns similar to that kaleidoscope toy. Being a Sparkler Thinker, I wondered about the souls, for surely they must be causing the effect on their void Worlds, and so it was that I learnt how to unravel the layers and reach in to examine previous personalities - such as yourself Sargami.
I suspect that a comprehensive explanation and understanding of the mind and soul will continue to evade us for a long time, for there is the additional complication that some of the parameters seem to vary according to the species of the current life being lived, but we do already have some information, which basically teaches us that what we had thought may be studied and understood, is so complex that it is like trying to study, as one organism, the complexities of a hundred galaxies, and attempting to form a clear picture of them from the universe size, down to the atoms of each molecule all the matter and energy in them is made of.
Understanding at a great depth is of only theoretical importance at this time, since we don’t know enough to know what we need to know. Luckily, what we are already beginning to understand is enough to provide us with a guide of what we must be careful of disturbing.
I will not compare the mind and soul to realities and so on, for I will only confuse you, but there is one miracle we cannot explain at this time, but which we know is true. Each personality of a past life occupies a unique layer within the soul and, we think, mind - for each life has its own mind, and yet each of those minds is, ultimately, one mind, with the soul growing according to each of the lives it is made out of and the manner in which they were lived. In other words, each layer that holds a personality mind-ego, helps separate the personalities, in a manner similar to the interface between the void and what you call normal space, yet, at times during each of those lives, when certain experiences caused great damage or even a truly remarkable awe and wonder that altered the personality, traces of the memories and thoughts and even feelings are able to cross the layers, though they are filtered so that nothing is clearly or definitely recalled or seen as part of the latest personality.
I cannot help you visualise what I’ve told you, but think of what I just told you in this amazing way - all the layers and personalities of distinct individuals, with each having an equal claim on the soul they are a part of, occupy the same space…or place. The size of that space we do not know; it may be so small that it does not actually exist, or else, it may be so big that it is infinite in size, occupying all of space.
Pano, Sargami, I do not have the gift of Robert for reducing complex information into easily understood pieces, so I hope he can explain all I said and answer your questions with a clarity I have failed to achieve. For now, what is important is that both of you understand that should Sargami be removed from the single entity that you are in truth, it is possible the mind and soul will unravel, collapsing at various points, damaging many personalities - with always the latest personality, the uppermost in the chain, suffering the greatest damage.”
It was obvious that the boys did not understand much of what they were told, Sargami thus betraying the fact that his people are not very advanced in physics, or that he comes from a social level where such education is not provided. At least they had questions and all of us tried to help Robert where we could. The boys may have found much of what they’d heard confusing and impossible to understand, but one thing was clear to both of them. For Sargami to remain, Pano will have to be sacrificed. It seems they have grown fond of each other, for Sargami is quite a selfish individual, and he earned points with everyone when he refused to jeopardise the existence of Pano, telling him that this life is his turn and he refuses to take it from him.
