I was scrolling through my feed yesterday and I saw a resteemed post (see the link below) that caught my eye (partly because it had an intriguing title and partly because thumbnail was hard to miss). A user, who I wasn't familiar with, appeared to be trying to create some resources to help smaller accounts on this site. Needless to say, this prospect is very attractive to someone like me who has struggled here to gain any real traction here. Don't get me wrong, I love Steemit and plan to continue using it one way or another. However, I do appropriate any help that I can get, so I read through the post and, while I don't know if I will do everything he or she (I couldn't tell which from the content I read but I suppose it doesn't really matter here) recommends, I found some great ideas there and I wanted to do what I can to help spread the word about the new steemitzombies tag.

The user, named whatamidoing, writes a long and very detailed post. Rather than providing a full summery here (I recommend that you read the post for the full effect) I will, instead, focus on the thing that stuck in my mind the most and the resource that I plan on using myself. Whatamidoing recommends using the steemitzombies tag to re-post good quality content that never had the chance to preform as well as it should have. I know that I have written some good stuff that no one ever saw but I have been hesitant to re-post  content because I worry about annoying the few followers that I do have or being, unjustly, accused of spamming. This tag, though, allows us to be upfront about what we are doing. It says that we are not spamming, we are, instead, giving our best content a second chance to earn us some Steem (that is one of the reasons that we are here, after all). 

If this tag takes off, using it may work in our favor in two ways. First, it gives our content the opportunity to be seen by more users as well as any new followers that we may have picked up since it was originally posted. It also could eventually function as a "seal of approval" which tells a potential reader that a post is some of our best content and that would make the post more attractive.

Whatamidoing recommends writing a short statement at the beginning of a zombie post that explains why you are re-posting it and I think that is a great idea. I, personally, also think it might be a great opportunity to make a few revisions to your original work. You could, for example, rewrite a troublesome sentence, add a paragraph to better illiterate your point, or use some different pictures and visual aides. This will give any followers, who already saw the content, something new to enjoy. Plus revision is great for any creative work. When I went to college it went like this: My first draft would earn me a low B, my second draft would get a high B, and my final draft would get an A. 

I don't want to go on for too long about this so I will end with these words: If you, like many of us, have high quality content that you think deserves a second chance, consider using the steemitzombies tag.
