# Term: Scoop

### Definition: A scoop is a vocal
 technique in which the vocalist sings a note just a little below the desired pitch right before sliding up to it. This is different than a waver or vibrato in that the note is only bent once. Notable singers who use the vocal scoop technique in their singing include Adele, Christina Aguilera and John Legend.<br>
