The Cost of Living is something I kind of calculate often in my head comparing the place I stay with other states or even other countries. Even though I have only stayed in my own state and never anywhere else I have lived in multiple places in my own state which have made me realize how important is to calculate the Cost of Living whenever you need to make a decision. For example, I am currently living in a District Town and it costs me about 200 USD per month to get all the monthly costs I am pretty sure the place I lived before had a lower Cost of Living as I was spending around 100 USD per month which means my Cost of Living went up by 2x in a matter of years. Yes, I know that INFLATION is a thing but even after calculating Inflation I am pretty sure my Cost of Living has Increased.


So whenever I decide anything which relates to moving somewhere else whether it is for a JOB or something else I always do the COST OF LIVING Calculation as if 30000 INR is enough for me to get all my Monthly Expenses in a District Town then 30000 INR will most definitely be not enough if I transfer to like a Capital City as the cost of everything will increase. Now I am making all these calculations on the fact that I will retain almost all my Basic Necessities when I transfer. For example, I live in a 2BHK now so I am making the calculation with a 2BHK in mind. As I know this for absolute certainty the house I am living in right now will cost a minimum of 5x of what I pay rent right now. So yeah the next time you decide to change places to calculate if the same Pay is enough to run all your Expenses as well as Investments.
