The first reality we need to come to terms with is the scam perpetuation in regular banks. A very common feature of regular banks is that they use your savings with them to invest and make profit and they keep the profit for themselves while your money sits there, never growing, never increasing and continually being deducted for ridiculous charges. Then the need for a "banking" system that can generate profit on its own for its users became pressing. That's how the proof of stake system was born. Earning just by having. 

Another reality is that in crypto, the concern of individuals is not only to make profit but to secure their funds. Security is paramount to prevent one's earnings from being compromised. In fact, the higher the funds you have in crypto, the higher the security risk.
