A Cheap way to secure your GPU cards with risers and zip ties

When I first started mining I never used open air frames, I just grabbed some zip ties and secured the video cards to the metal rack with them.  Ideally you should use two zip ties (one in the front and one in the back of the card) but in this case I only used one because it was a quick two day test of a new algo. This allows you to keep your motherboard in an old pc case to keep the dust off of it and just run risers to your cards. It works best with cards that do not need external power such as the gtx 1050 ti. The powered risers supply enough power for the cards.

Its quick and its dirty but it gets the Job done

Metal racks on wheels are a great way to keep your small GPU farm mobile even if you are using open air frames.

I had old milk crates.  I ziptied the GPUs to those. The Mobo fit nicely inside with the PS and HDD.   

Now it's all open air frames.   Mining Zcash and ETH

I mostly use open air frames as well, but if I want to do something quick or test a card this works perfectly. I remember seeing rooms full of milk crate monstrosities back in the day.

When the fans spin up for the cards move about much?

I had a dabble at mining on my PC (it's a beast but still, it seemed to only generate a few pence per day, didn't seem worthwhile. I was farming Monero at the time I think).
