Why is this acquisition good for Steem?
For the past few days after the announcement of Steemit acquisition by Tron, there have been so many discussions about how things can turn around. The price of Steem is also going up and down. People are already investing so much on both Steem as well as Tron because of FOMO. I personally see this acquisition as a good thing for Steem. I would like to detail a little about what I personally think on some of the topics.

## Steemit is not Steem

Like everyone else is saying, we all have to first understand one thing clearly that steemit is not Steem. I completely agree that steemit is one of the biggest dapp on Steem with over 50% of stake. But we have already grown to be a self sustaining Blockchain with many other dapps on Steem. If steemit is out of the picture tomorrow, we will still be able to run the Blockchain without any problem. We have good set of witnesses who can direct us towards a good future. One of the most important thing was the developers. It is true that most of the Blockchain development happened with the support from steemit, however the community is having enough developers who can keep the Blockchain intact with more HF and updates.

## Ned is finally out of the picture

With this acquisition announcement, one great thing is that Ned is no longer in the picture. This is a great news. We will no longer be influenced by the bad management of Ned. I'm not sure about the new management and how it is going to be, but I definitely feel that it will be a lot better than earlier. Ned is probably sitting somewhere and counting his money. Justin can probably be the next Ned but even if that is the case, I still feel things can be a little better.

## Learning opportunity

I see this as a new opportunity for investment as well as learning. People have already started investing their money on Tron now. I guess that is what Justin is expecting from this acquisition. There is already a good market cap for Tron but only thing that is missing is the community that Steem has. My wild guess is that, this can turn out to be a good deal in the future.

I have already started exploring Tron a little bit from the development perspective. I have heard that Tron is highly suitable for gaming. I have not looked into the technical aspects yet but I'm planning to use Tron for my gaming idea in the future or at least play existing games already available in the chain.

Overall my opinion is that it is too early to judge anything and decide anything. I'm not going to power down or unstake and sell my Steem anytime soon. I'm just going to give it some more time to wait and watch what's happening. I hope even if things go wrong, we will still be able to get out of this with decent profit because we have some big brains on Steem Blockchain.

BTW, I invested some in Tron. Its market rank is among first 15 cryptos which is something fascinating. And from marketing point of view Justin sun is capable. He has a picture with Warren Buffet on his pinned tweet.

Good thoughts but what if Ned was not actually in for managing steem? What if all he wanted was to build the platform to a saleable price then quit to think another? Let's just be alert on the developments here.

Dear @bala41288

> I personally see this acquisition as a good thing for Steem.

It seem that more and more people are sharing your view on that issue. And just like you said: 'it is too early to judge anything and decide anything.'

I've already read tons of comments and it's clear to me, that steem community is breaking into few different groups. It's surely very worrying time for many users. Personally I decided to be optimistic.

Also one thing that people seem to forget is the fact, that Steemit Inc. has been dumping large amount of steem on the market on montly basis (any idea how much did they sell every month?). This created enormous selling pressure. I don't think Justin will follow this strategy.

Many things surely will change and some users will be gone. I expect that mostly whales and witnesses will have a very challenging time adapting. Wouldn't you agree?

ps.
I also just wrote more about my own approach to this issue. ([link here](https://steemit.com/tron/@crypto.piotr/being-worried-and-optimistic-at-the-same-time-my-personal-view-on-tron-and-steem-situation)). Check it out and drop some comment :)

Upvote on the way :)
Cheers, Piotr
