BustA Rhymes! Wow, that is Great!  

I'ma hoping money changes me, for the better. But that is not possible, in reality. I just can hope and pray that more money equals more giving. My whole steemit experience is based on that.  I was the #1 vote giver by far at a forum, it was where I spent the majority of my time online.  I was #5 or 6 in votes received, but all the ones above me had gotten most of their up-votes from me in fact :D  Great Folks, worthy of the votes, but when I saw steemit I knew I had to make it my new home.  
Your observations are very useful, Axey. Helps me to re-center quite often.

Yes, true! No one can bring any money or status into death. We don't need it there, why should we need it here? Of course we need some money to eat, live and so on, but spending all our lives to get more, more, more money, that doesn't feel right for me.

"Busy chasing money and status while life slips away is a sad usage of resources...." Can't agree more. Providing value and helping others and finding opportunities to make a difference are what we should be seeking. Those are the true resources.

I was watching a documentary on the nature of happiness and when it started talking about money I thought it was obvious (as someone who has both struggled as a child but then grown up and done better) but also a really good point, and maybe *not* as obvious to people that have always had enough money to live without fear.

Anyway, they compared happiness levels of people who make, say, $5000 a year compared to $50,000 the second group was a lot happier. But when they compared the $50,000 group to a group who makes $500,000 the second group was definitely NOT happier (can't remember if they tended to be the same amount of happy or less so).

This basically means that, yes, money matters in getting your basic needs met. If you are constantly struggling just to get food on the table or a roof over your head it's bound to affect your happiness level, but once your most basic needs are met more money doesn't make you *more* happy.
