I went out to get some fruits and vegetables somewhere far from the street, and discovered that the price of fruits has swung to almost twice the initial price. It didn't take time to dawn to me that every thing we used to buy had received double promotion from one class to another. Fact saying, the cost of living in Nigeria is becoming unbearable. Men's basic need (food, shelter, clothing, and so on ) are obligatory, but the high cost has made some of these needs not fully mandatory, as some sleep under the bridge, inside grounded buses, and sometimes, uncompleted buildings on the street. The garri, Yam flour, Fish, Meat, tomatoes etc that was at some point affordable is now becoming a mirage.

Landlords couldn't wait for the month/ year to end before milking the hell out of tenants. The high rent makes it difficult for them to pay, however, they need a place to hide their head at night.
The inability to pay and the fight for survival on the part of the landlord, who only survive on house rents meets like two thunders and they begin to spark. Fight between landlords and tenants has become a normal thing. At least, it is where you have an investment that you will look forward to getting an income. The landlords are not at fault, neither are the tenants. It's the economy that brought about scarcity, which results in high price of goods and services.

Buying clothes also becomes a chimera. Only the rich can buy good cloths. Most people opt for daily used clothes also calledTokunbo. Some of the patches on these clothes may not be noted at the point of purchase but detected when the buyer wants to or wear them at home. Though some are good and nice, when a buyer is unlucky, he might get the worst of these products. It is the high cost of new ones that made many people subscribe to buying Tokunbo products at an affordable price.

Many Nigerians now have a tone of how many times they ate or plan to eat in a day. When you hear 101, it means the person is or will eat breakfast and dinner alone. 001 means there would be no food in the morning and afternoon. It is only in the night that such a person would eat. Most are not doing it intentionally, it's only to reduce his/her spending due to the high cost of purchasing food in the country.

The covid-19 will always be one of the reasons for this extra hardship in the nation. Cases are discovered every day. Many people on the street, because of the thirst to survive don't care much about the virus.
I'm afraid a couple of Nigerians would lose their lives to this coronavirus issue. It's becoming so disturbing. At this point, Coronavirus is killing, and hunger is getting many people dehydrated.
