 *I’ll get straight to the point... How many times have you seen a post with advice about how to succeed on steem that says post every day? In this short article I want to explain why I disagree with posting every day, and why I think the steem train is just about to get moving!* # Posting Every Day I understand why people advise writing a post every day, but my argument is that that is not the best strategy for everyone. There are a few things to consider when setting goals about how often to post, but I think the most important thing is the amount of time and energy you can spare in your life. Think about your purpose for being here in the first place. Are you hear to learn about all things crypto? Are you here to earn crypto? Are you here to make meaningful connections? Are you here to express yourself? Maybe it’s a bit of each. If your focus is to post every day though, you might lose sight of your purpose. Some people put a lot of hard work into long posts that are really good quality, but don’t get the rewards because they haven’t built the community connections. My advice is start small. READ posts. Don’t skim read, find the people who’s posts you actually enjoy reading, and engage them in meaningful conversation via comments. This takes way less time and effort, but builds something more real. When you do start posting, pace yourself. Start small and start meaningfully and build your momentum. You won’t regret it. The last thing you wanna do is run out of steam and give up on Steemit before it’s really taken off. # This thing is about to take off When I first started in Steemit I saw a few posts similar to this one. I realised there are patterns. The price of cryto goes up, and a wave of new steemians come onto the platform. They go full steem ahead, and then the price of crypto drops and so does the enthusiasm. A portion of that new wave give up and leave. The smart ones stick around and ride the waves. ### There’s something exciting building now though... Have you heard of SMT’s (or Smart Media Tokens)? They are gonna change things. A little while ago Steemit announced they would be launching Smart Media Tokens. In the last few days I have seen a few new ventures pop into my feed planning to capitalise on SMT’s. And this is just the start. In the future a lot of people won’t even come to Steemit.com. It’s exciting enough that we have Dtube and Zappl and other platforms already, soon we will have soooooo much more. @platforms is even setting up to help people build them fast - this is a game changer. This thing is like a steem train. It might take a while to get moving. It might feel like it stops and starts a bit at first.
