There's questions  that lead to more questions because the answer is basically another question. If you knew what the answer means to those in the crossfire, you would feel sorry for them but that's all you can do. After feeling sorry, your mind will still get flooded by the inevitable plethora of questions, out of pure sympathy and nothing else. This is why I ask, what does it mean to you, what is ***A dollar*** worth?

Thinking about it leaves me frustrated and living in this hurtful World infuriates me but I must go on, keep pushing every day until I reach the point where I can look back at today and laugh; I can't let today be my best days. What is a dollar worth to me? It is hard to write this without being emotional because tears blur my vision.

What is it worth? What does it really mean? I see these kids regularly. there's not much I can do for them, I pass by and drop the odd 50Naira or less whenever I'm outside. They're called ***Almajiri ***and have something to do with an obsolete Islamic practice, they spend their entire day begging for crumbs and praying in the mosque. It is one of the most inhumane things I have ever seen and their parents are monsters.. They don't know better or maybe they do, I have so many questions, I wonder what ***a Dollar** means to them.

What is it worth, What does it all mean? Money is an elusive guest that never overstays  its welcome. Money slips out of my grasp faster than light can reach my sensitive eyes. These men, they stand under the scorching  sun for hours in search of their daily bread. You think you know but you don't. They are "bus loaders" and in all honesty, they're technically beggars who obstruct movement and shout names of bustops that everyone knows. The spend the whole day "working", a job that no one gave them. In some way, we could say they're self employed but in some other way, we could say that they're screwed and only barely living because ***a Dollar*** is probably an entire day's work.

What is the worth of a dollar you ask? what does it mean? What is the price of your internet, what is the price of your soul? How many people will you hurt if it will take you to your goal?  You can speak loftily about uncompromising standards from your luxurious houses and your mythical ***three square meals***, these are perplexing standards to the man at the bottom that rubs his palms in envy. You throw your dollar in his face and he clings on to it, it is nothing to you but everything to him. I know this small man that lies in wait, trying to capitalise on the perceived "weakness" of the ***Dollar man***, he runs from the law in perpetuity but is the bread winner, a criminal by law but hero to a few; he is a sad tale of hunger, temptation and envy. A product of the society and victim of the times. We're all victims but this is no excuse, we all have choices after all. Can you tell him what a ***Dollar's*** worth?

So many things to worry about, so much you won't believe. the worst thing you can do is turn on the news. the business section talks about the NASDAQ and fancy terms that don't make any sense. I wonder why they even bother. The local news talks about the men I voted into power and then it dawns on me what a Dollar's worth; are we living in the same country I wonder. Perhaps this is one ***Dollar man*** that deserves what he gets from the envious. We live in the same building but breathe different air, Their dollar comes every minute and it is casually more than what I get through an honest living every week. To all the suicide slopes and dreams that never made it out of the incubator, to the people that you damned because of your pilfering and your god forsaken impunity to rub it in our faces, I welcome you all. The quick reminder of what you are and what I am; the value of a dollar separates us.

A samurai will take his own life when he fails and a decent man will accept his faults. Improvement is a steady process that is as a result of continuous scrutiny. I live in a society where people are immune to scrutiny, no matter how constructive you present it. It is seen as an "Insult" because of the deep rooted impunity, ignorance and unwarranted pride. You're probably nothing, just holding on to what a dollar is to you when you don't realise that we're standing on the potential of making it mean less to you and improving the standard of life. So what does it mean to you,  is it a meal? a reason to drop your principles and steal? a tool or a lifestyle? What's ***a Dollar*** worth to you?
