On September 25, Andrea Barzagli returned to Juventus in Turin. The Italian, who retired from professional activity at the end of last season, was announced as a new member of the Maurizio Sarri coaching staff. He arrives to work on the defensive side of the team.


In a press conference prior to the match against SPAL for Serie A, Sarri welcomed Barzagli, who will be in charge of making Juan Guillermo Cuadrado stronger in the defensive zone. The Colombian is one of the multi-functional players of the squad and will surely act as a right back in the next games due to Danilo's injury.

"With Andrea we had already spoken in June. Now we are delighted to have him in our technical staff. His first task will be to deal with the defensive phase of certain players, for example of Square that can grow a lot," said the coach.
