<h4>From mountains to the plains…</h4>
Nebraska terrain was much like Kansas.  Windy, with farms as far as the eye can see.  Our destination was Branched Oak State Recreation Area located in Ogallala, Nebraska.

<h4>After a stormy night and a great morning juice we were off!  The Platte River on our way!</h4>
Did you know the Platte River was originally known as the Nebraskier River, named by the Otoe people?  Roughly translated it means “flat water."  French explorers also used the term “reviere plate” also meaning flat river.  Perhaps that is where the name Platte River comes from?  The Platte covers around 310 miles in the state of Nebraska, a very flat shallow and muddy river.  A pretty sight but much too shallow to be used as a major navigation route for travelers. Oh my goodness, grandma, you are such a tease!!! He is such a cutie pie, but I can't wait to see the whole face, lol. I love those teeth; isn't that the most adorable part on babies that age?  Oh and the curiosity, lol. It is just fun to watch them discovering things 😍
