A message from the artist.

My name is Justina Pine, I'm 24 years old and born in Texas but didn't grow up there. I grew up in multiple broken homes, that started with being separated by the state and very poor. I never lived in a state for more than 2 years until I was 14. Now I've been in Alabama ever since 2008. I've been making jewelry since the start of October in 2017. I had been looking for a hobby for years. Something that would help me escape from my thoughts because I suffer from anxiety and depression that had begun to worsen as I got older. I knew I wanted my hobby to be something artistic - but drawing and painting seemed to worsen the negative feelings inside by making them tangible and visible. Forcing me to engage with those feelings which was the opposite of what I wanted out of my time and effort. I didn't want my art or hobby to be a burden on my psyche. 
When I started wire wrapping it was a perfect way to escape. I have to use my handsa and on the tiny details. Thank about it fully and be 100% invested. Not only did it help me steer from my thoughts when I found myself alone - which happens quite often - it made me feel good, something that didn't manifest on its own without friends and family making an effort. From that moment of realization I started putting all my effort into these pieces. I put my entire heart in every single one. I love them all like children. Now I'm pursuing jewelry making as a career. I'm new to the game with only 6 months under my belt, but I have confidence in my abilities and most of all - my heart is invested and it's never led me astray.
