Today I am going to discuss and narrate about a animal.The animal is Cat.But it is not domestic or pet Cat.**Any idea which type of Cat is my subject**?

Sand Cat is a wild species of the family of Cut.It usually lives in a desert and water free region.The scientific name of the Cat is Felis margarita.It is about 39–52 cm long from head to body and have a 23–31 cm long tail.The average mass of an adult cat is about  2.8 kg.It belongs to  Felidae family.This cat is also called as sand dune cat.It has sandy color fur so it can easily make camouflage and prey its food and protect from the attack of enemies.

Sand cat is coverd with grey brown coat.It has some stripes on its leg but it is not common.It has broad head and big eyes.But it's ear is small and limbs are short.

The interesting matter is that it's tail is about half of the full body length.It is about 39–52 cm long from head to body and have a 23–31 cm long tail.The average mass of an adult cat is about  2.8 kg.It has two or three ring shaped design on its body.But it is like a pet cat in size.

The habitat of the cat is very dry dust sandy with small vegetables.They generally live in a stony valley and sand is the favorite bed for the species of the cat.It is a sand dwelling wild cat.This type of cat is mainly found three regions of the world.One is the desert of Sahara ,this area stretches throughout Algeria, Niger and Morocco.Second one is Arabian peninsula.And the last region of the sand cat is central Asia like Turkmenistan, Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

This animal can survive in the place of very hot.The habitat of the cat has temperature upto 51 degree in day and at night temperature could reach at -.5 degree.When the weather becomes so extreme, the cat hides in the hole of the sand.So sand is so important for the survival of the cat.

The food habit of the cat is relatively dangerous.But generally rodent is the main food of the cat.It also eat hares, birds, spiders, insects and reptiles.Sometimes it hunts venomous viper and many types of snakes.This cat can survive without drinking water for a week.It can take moisture from it's prey.

Time of reproduction mainly deponds on the place in where the cat lives.If the cat lives in Sahara desert it's breeding starts January and end in April.Turkmenistan is the place in where breeding starts in April but In pakistan it starts from November to december.

But it can breed more than once in a year if it is under the cure of human.It generally gives birth two or four kittens.

Sand cat is under the threat of extinction.There are many problem which makes it endangered species.

- The reduction of the area of it's habitat.People take the area of the cat to develop their wishes.
- Domestic cat and dog are one of the threat of the sand cat.They kill sand cat.
- In the Arabian Peninsula ,the many area of the cat has been declined due to human political issues and the situation of war like activities.
- In Saudi Arabia this cat is being shot and it is being declined due to pet trade.


But to keep our ecosystem and diversity of nature well-balanced we should reserve this beautiful species of cat.
