OUT OF THIS WORLD “San Nyuk Mian”

The sweet aroma of soup and the almost cafe like ambiance will make you stop for a moment on the five foot pathway of *Kedai Kopi Melanian*. If you are hungry your eyes will scan for empty tables. If your stomach is full all other senses of your body shall reject the “If full do not eat” instruction program on your stomach or temporarily delete that particular coding in your system 😁

There are at least three coffee shops serving “San Nyuk Mian” in Lintas area alone but my favourite is Kedai Kopi Melanian located next to Hong Leong Bank, Lintas Plaza about 10-15 minutes from Kota Kinabalu city centre. Although located in a busy commercial area, the time taken looking for parking is worth the effort. 
I like Melanian simply because it’s clean, welcoming, fast service with smiling faces of working crews.

But of cause it’s the food that keeps me coming back.

You can choose from the wall of menu. This exercise will take you at least a minute or so and in the end you going to ask for recommendations. But the staff will pass you an A3 size menu for you to look down instead of looking up the wall another 5 minutes 😁.

Food and drinks are reasonably priced and served from early 6.30am till late 11.00 pm.

I ordered gravy-noodle “konlomein” with mix everything soup and “taufu” or bean curd with special sauce, and of cause black coffee.

The first thing you want to taste is the soup- sweet real pork broth, rich in flavour from the tip of your tongue down to the edge of your throat can taste. The meat is so tender and the other parts of a pig like liver, heart and kidney taste like how they should taste.

Every spoonful of the soup and bite of tender noodle is out of this world especially when you close your eyes and savour every flavour in that precious delicious moment. The “taufu” would equally drift you away from reality. The whole experience of ceremoniously eating “San Nyuk Mian” is OUT OF THIS WORLD....

I always eat here with my ex-colleagues  (my office is right on the second floor). Before they did the renovation, I remembered how uncomfortable it was to have our lunch there because of the heat from the kitchen and from the sun. Still, it didn't stop us to have our daily lunch at this restaurant.

I'm impressed that they did a pretty good job with the renovation. And, yes! Their kolo-mien is the best in KK! You'll have to excuse me. I'm hungry now. Hahaha.

I think the last time I went there was about 5 years ago. All because getting a parking spot is quite problematic. Maybe I came there during the peak hours. I will surely visit this place again soon. The food there is really good.
