<h1> Woohoo! It's a new year! Time for setting up goals or finishing goals you set up a long time ago XD. </h1>

This year, I celebrated HNY with my family at my parents' house. As an asian family, we are used to not communicate a lot about 'deep' things, but here is Kimberley who loves to communicate :P. We were sitting around the table, enjoying dinner. Afterwards I decided to ask everyone what their goals are for 2018. I really didn't expect serious answers.. Surprisingly, almost everybody gave serious answers.. even my dad.. he started to laugh and told us his goal is to travel to Canada with my mom and to visit their friends they haven't seen since 1985. Too bad my sister answered: 'just relaxing' as a goal for 2018.. Too bad or not, it's still a goal I guess..?

Later, I was talking to my sister in law and sister outside the house. I came with the idea to write all the goals on a piece of paper and to put it in a box, so at the end of this year, we can all look back and see who reached his/her goals! I told my parents they can also write in Khmer (language of Cambodia). My mom said:"Why would I want to write down my goals? I already told you all what my goals are.." I answered:"This is for prove and it is nice to check our goals back at the end of this year!" I really thought both of my parents wouldn't write their goals down but they DID! Everyone DID! And I am so happy about that :D.

<h2><b> My goals for this year are: </b></h2>
- To graduate - which will happen soon, hopefully within 2 weeks ;)
- To find a (nice) job
- To own a small car
- To travel to Cambodia and meet my grandfather who is almost 100 years old!
- To make lots of memories and capture them by photography

And there are some private goals I can't talk about (now)! Let's hope I will reach my goals at the end of this year!

These are called 'oliebollen' which are old-fashioned Dutch deep fried doughnut balls. It's a tradition to eat 'oliebollen' before new year.

After 12 am, I called to my family in Cambodia to see my grandfather. He is very old but he still recognizes us. The first thing he asked was:"When will you visit me?" haha.. Later, I told him I love and miss him so much. He replied: "Then come to Cambodia!" Well, let's hope I can travel to Cambodia as soon as possible :-).

So, in the Netherlands it is allowed to light the fireworks. Some idiots like to light up heavy fireworks.. I was standing at my neighbor's house and between two people, a piece of firework was shot in my face. Luckily, not in my eyes.  I had a tingling feeling and rushed inside to see if I was bleeding.. I bleeder a bit, nothing worse. My sister cleaned it with alcohol. I was so shocked that I almost fainted XD lol.. but I'm okay :P. Hope I won't get a scar.

I'm really excited what 2018 will bring! 2017 was a year filled with struggles, lessons and many reflections. On the one side, I wish I'd never go through them all, but on the other side.. all these experiences have created me and I wouldn't be me now if it wasn't for the bad experiences. I've never been happier before and I've never felt stronger before. I thank all the struggles and lessons of 2017. I thank myself for letting me go through it all.
