<h2>Shangri La 香格里拉足體館 Foot Massage Review</h2>
<p>Ended up in Shangri La 香格里拉足體館 Foot Massage so a friend of mine could try an authentic Taiwanese foot massage. There are so many foot spa's in the area. The average rate tends to be NT$100 for ever 10 minutes.<br /><br />Right next to Shangri La 香格里拉足體館 Foot Massage Spa are literally 2 other foot spas. Those have a price of NT$399 for 40 minutes. Shangri La 香格里拉足體館 charges NT$350 so that was enough of a price drop to finally go for a foot massage.<br /><br />For 40 minutes, NT$350 is a REALLY good deal in Taipei. The foot massage was good. Like other places in Taiwan, it started the usual way. 10 minutes of soaking your feet in warm water, cleaning them and then the 30 minute foot massage. In total, that's what you will be getting for NT$350 and in 40 minutes which is below the usual rate.</p><p>The foot massage was in these big comfy chairs. It was so good we decided to add in a neck and shoulder massage for NT$200 and another 20 minutes.</p>

<p>That was a mistake. This was the first time getting a neck and shoulder massage at a foot spa place. They place a towel over your neck and then begin the massage. As you can imagine, it was a well used towel which causes a lot of friction against your skin. <h3>All displayed prices in Taiwan are the actual price. Tax is already included and for large purchases, tourists visiting Taiwan can get a 5% <a href="https://taiwaneater.com/how-to-get-a-taiwan-vat-tax-refund/">Taiwan VAT refund</a> at the airport Tax Refund counter. Some shops offer this service too, but they will require your passport.</h3>
<h3>Taiwan Is Cash Only (For Most Small Shops)</h3>
<p>The primary payment method for all transactions in Taiwan is cash. It's very rare for small shops to take anything other than cash. It's more common to see places accept the <a href="https://taiwaneater.com/taipei-guide-airport-to-city/#Easy_Card_Taiwan_MRT_Taipei_Guide">Taipei Metro Card</a> as payment rather a credit card.</p><p>Supermarkets and convenience stores in Taiwan (7-Eleven, Family Mart) do not accept credit cards (at least not American credit cards). You can only make purchases by cash or by using your pre-loaded funds on your <a href="https://taiwaneater.com/taipei-guide-airport-to-city/#Easy_Card_Taiwan_MRT_Taipei_Guide">EasyCard</a>.</p>
<h3>Using Credit Cards in Taiwan</h3>
If you want to use your credit card in Taiwan, make sure to check if a restaurant in Taiwan accepts credit card in advance. When a place does accept credit card, it will typically be Visa or Mastercard. It's extremely rare for a place to accept Discover and American Express.
UberEats, HonestBee, Deliveroo and FoodPanda are Taipei Food Delivery Services where you can order food directly to your <a href="https://www.airbnb.com/c/daniela59?currency=USD" rel="nofollow">airbnb </a>or hotel using a credit card.
