*I love music, I'm one of those who think life would be much uglier and harder to support if there was no music.*

I was nominated by my friend @mariossap for this challenge initiated by @dimitrisp. I think it's a challenge for the Greek community, but because I was invited, I understand that exceptions are made.

I have reached the fifth post. It's getting harder and harder to choose what music to share, I have a lot of high school memories and a lot of music. ##
Progressive

In the [post yesterday I talked about Iron Butterfly](https://steemit.com/musicwaybackchallenge/@bluemoon/7-day-wayback-music-challenge-day-4-in-a-gadda-da-vida-in-the-garden-of-eden) and the beginnings of progressive rock. The impact was great among the young in the 70s, we were in the last years of high school. We do not really care about mathematics and Romanian language. Foreign languages were preferred, in my case, French and English. English mainly because it was "the bridge" to Western culture and, in our case, to the new music coming from Great Britain and USA.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fEkYxRCl_c
*Although the best, the big ones that were approachable to us (in the sense that we could get vinyl or recordings) of the progressive rock musicians were Genesis and Pink Floyd, I think these bands are known to everyone. I want to introduce you to another band that twisted our minds.*

*Our preference was for a strange music performed by a Dutch band, little known outside Europe. The band was called **Focus** and was made up of highly talented musicians, my favorite being solo guitarist Jan Akkerman. Jan Akkerman and Thijs van Leer (vocalist and also flute and keyboard) were in the forefront.*

*The song is called **Hocus Pocus** and was the biggest hit of the band ... **Focus!** A very strange musical piece with excellent guitar solos, organ and drums, but especially the performance of the vocalist.*

I know it's unfortunate that someone can force you to do something. Something you may not like! That's why I invite everyone who loves music and has something to say to try this challenge. No nominations!

**7-Day Wayback Music Challenge** initiated by @dimitrisp: **The Rules...** -Choose one song from your high-school/college years. -Write a few words about who made you listen to this song for the first time, what this song means to you (was it a breakup song? you blasted it at 100% on your audio system when you were partying with your friends?) whatever you want. -Write your text while listening to the song. As soon as the song ends, wrap up what you were writing and submit it. -Do this for 7 days in a row if you get nominated -Mention one person who should do this on each day. -Tag it with #musicwaybackchallenge and include these rules at the bottom of your post -Follow @greek-trail for great content made by our fellow Greeks!

![gfsrfvd.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmTUQBSa5RvFmvtS3MCkqAGEtXJ2sCYgcCvLZx2p5jWRdM/gfsrfvd.jpg)

I play the flute to this day and really enjoy listening to it. I have always loved European bands, preferred listening to their music, especially when I lived there. Thank you! Tip!

Do you play the flute? Great. I'm so glad you like the Europeans ... Forgive me for the late answer, I'm out for a few days in my favorite city, Iasi.
