## Lately, I have been doing some ghost writing on Steemit. Though, not quite in the true sense of the word. 

I do sign my name to the posts I write. I just post them through a different account, one that is a community account, so there is no way for anyone to know if I've written the posts or not without either reading them all the way to their ends or quickly scrolling to their final words. 

It has been interesting watching how these posts have been received in views, votes, and comments, and it has somewhat reacquainted me with the struggles and doubts that new writers have on this platform. When you're starting from scratch, it's not easy, and it takes a lot of work to get your footing, probably a lot more than most people imagine when they sign up here. 

#### *I've tried giving people advice on how to get started on Steemit before, but it's hard. I don't know what the answers are, and I truly feel like this is a place where everybody needs to find his/her own way. Will you be an investor? Will you be a big personality? Will you be a curator? Will you post a photo a day? Will you be a random contributor? Will you be a developer? Will you join all the contests? Will you be a professional comment maker? What will you be?*

### There are a lot of roles to play on this platform and everyone needs to figure out what works for them. 
Everyone needs to decide what they can do well and how much activity they can maintain here with the time, tools, and skills that they have. With a little reflection, a plan, and some perserverance, I truly feel like anyone can reach a moderate level of success on this platform. 

Now that I've said that, let me digress, because I've gotten a little off track. The reason that I have been dabbling in the area of ghost writing is that I have been writing for a joint account that is shared by other Steemians living in the same city as I do, most of whom are new to Steemit and trying to find their roles and their audiences. While I do think that anyone can make it here on their own, a little help along the way never hurt anyone. 

#### *The hope for this group is that writers like myself, who have been writing on Steemit for over a year, will be able to bring more eyes to the posts of others in the group than would normally be received. Not only that, but since rewards are shared among vested members, the hope is also that more senior writers like myself will be able to draw in rewards that can be shared with the newer Steemians in the group who may need a little encouragement in the form of Steem or SBD from time to time. Additionally, it is also hoped that having a sense of belonging to a community and working toward the success of each other will hope all members involved to work through the doubts and the downtimes which are inevitably experienced from time to time by everyone.*

### So far, it has been a bit of a slow start, but in my experience on Steemit, slow and steady growth has been a good thing. That's why I'm not worried. I know things will pick up again with a little perserverance and hard work.
