A quick glance around the Internet and you'll find hundreds upon hundreds of sites devoted to telling stories. And a lot of them are for children too, of course.

Kids love making up stories and telling them in front of an audience. They love it. And it is quite likely that they would love it even more if they could actually see the characters they've made up. It's amazing just how much imaginative energy can be expended when you're playing a game of imagination with a friend or family member.

As I've written before, one of the best ways to get kids interested in what you have to say is to use simple stories that don't take a lot of time. Simple stories make the task of learning something fun rather than a chore.
But even when you get kids involved in story time, you'll need to give them some structure. And this is where storytelling comes in.

Story telling allows kids to explore their imaginations. It makes them think about what their own character would do. It also allows them to imagine other people's characters. It is a form of imagination. And this is what we all want our kids to have.

Once they have a little creative process under their belt, they're ready to start thinking about the rest of their lives. If you can help encourage this creative process, you'll see amazing improvements in their educational development.

As you begin your efforts at helping your child develop this creative process, you'll notice that it starts right away. It doesn't take very long at all for most kids to become fascinated by the story they've been telling. Look for good books that encourage kids to engage in imaginative play with a variety of characters. That way, your kid will start developing these skills before they ever need them.
